Chiang Mai Thailand has been home for the last year and I can honestly say that it's been magical so far. The food, the culture, and the naturally positive demeanor of most of the locals make Chiang Mai unforgettable. I like the fact that I'm just a quick flight to popular countries like Singapore, Malaysia, and Bali and most of the flights are relatively inexpensive. I spent less than $300 USD for a short notice round trip ticket to Bali just a few months ago. Before that I took a bus to Myanmar for less than $10. Food is on every corner and even the pickiest eaters will find something they'll love. Since Chiang Mai is rapidly being filled with Westerner's the Thai people are starting to catch on to making everything instagram worthy and there is no shortage of great bars, coffee shops, and parks to get one of a kind travel photos. If you're a melanated traveler get ready for random people (usually Chinese) taking pictures of you with or without your consent. Remember that you're in their world and customs are different. They don't see the harm in taking a photo and will often do so even as you politely decline and ask them to stop. I usually pull out my camera and snap pictures back or just turn around and leave..... there's just no need for confrontation. I also recommend staying away from tuk tuk driver's if you don't speak Thai and if you don't like being taken advantage of financially. I do recommend taking a tuk tuk at least one time just to say you've done it though. The night life has everything you'd expect from a growing Asian city. There are seedy areas where you can find your fill of sexual fantasies and perversions and other areas where you can go and club or grab food. Chiangmai is small but if you know where to look the city isn't as sleepy as it may appear to the untrained eye.

I spent a week in Rota Spain traveling around and I had the most fun in Seville which is around an hr and a half away. I went to Seville for the night life and it was worth the drive. Seville is a chill place that I would recommend for everyone. I thought that the food was decent, nothing special, and the prices were tolerable.

I lived in Crete for a year and I have to admit that it's one of the only places that I've considered revisiting. I usually live in a place for a little while then move on and don't look back but Crete was special. I enjoyed the people, the food, the culture, and the architect. There's really nothing to not like about Crete. I would highly recommend that everyone who's capable go to visit Crete. The province of Chania offers great shopping, food, and awesome views of the water and lighthouse.

I lived in Italy for 2 years and frequented Rome on occasion. I highly recommend Rome for a 5 to 6 day stay for people who enjoy tons of tourists, great food, and friendly people. There were lots of pub crawls for people who enjoy night life and mingling with people from around the world. If money is of concern I'd probably avoid Rome for more than a day or two because everything there is inflated to match the heavy tourism. The Colosseum, Spanish steps, Vatican, and Trevi fountain are some of the more known touristy parts that I recommend visiting at least once.

Rarely do I say....."I'll never go back" but I'm willing to say it in this case. I spent 5 days and 6 nights in Kuala Lumpur and my experience was less than inviting. The people seemed very cold and shrewd but Muslims are often stern faced so it can be hard to tell when they like you and when they don't. I walked into several stores and owners and employees all acted like I was bothering them by even being there. Now, I have to preface this by saying that I live in Thailand "The land of smiles" so I may be jaded when it comes to customer service and making the customer feel welcomed but I didn't feel wanted or appreciated the whole time I was there. I won't go back to Kuala Lumpur but I will go back to other parts of Malaysia.

When you ask people to name one place in Thailand they always start with "Bangkok".... no doubt its a hot and popping city but that city life isn't for everyone. I personally don't like Bangkok because of the traffic, crowded streets, and smog but I can't pretend like the city doesn't have a lot to offer. There's all types of crazy restaurants with cool themes like the one I went to where I wore a unicorn onesy and drank unicorn themed drinks with unicorn themed food. Sure, it's corny, but it's a story ;-) The food in Bangkok didn't stand out as being something that I couldn't get in other parts of Asia but the night life was definitely superior to other popular places like Chiang Mai. Bangkok is an experience worth having but not one that I'm putting back on the list of places to visit any time soon.

I live in Chiang Mai Thailand and I go to Myanmar often for visa runs or quick excursions and it's a very inexpensive place to hangout. If you've ever been to south east Asia then you already have a general idea of what to expect in terms of weather and sites to see. I highly recommend Myanmar as a 2 or 3 day stop for most people because the food is good, there are temples that are full of history and the people are just as kind as you'd expect from the Asian culture.

    Romance

I am not personally attracted to certain Asian typed but the people in Bali are a different kind of Asian... They are beautiful! Most importantly, they thought I was beautiful too! They loved my hair, skin, and smile and I had absolutely no problems getting to know people. Like most single travelers, I often use a dating app to find companionship for the evening but the amount of messages I was receiving in Bali was over the top.... These messages weren't from ugly people either! I spent most of my week between canngu, seminyak, and ubud and each of those places seems to lure in the most beautiful and fit people on earth. Everyone there seemed to be gorgeous and interested in romance so I'll certainly be returning.
