A Little About Me:
Lover of everything Glam and all things Pink. International Teacher living in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. I love traveling and exploring countries like a local. I prefer to research and take on the country without a tour guide.
If your looking to party and bar hop all night long street is the place to go. The strip has a New Orleans, Vegas, and Miami vibe. Very busy loud and filled with tourists and locals. You can literally bar hop all night. If you like Afro beats and dancehall you should stop by Joburg, the DJ was great ! club 169 and Iconic are nice chill spots too. I enjoyed watching the locals dance. Their moves are amazing! There is no cover charge for most of the bars. Now ladies beware some of the men are really aggressive and touchy. Also keep your purse in front of you and travel with a small purse if possible. There were a few people asking for money and one even followed us. Overall I enjoyed my night out on Longstreet.
Cairo,Egypt was by far my favorite trip. I got to see first hand everything I read about in school. From my history books to right in front of my eyes. I felt like I was on the Magic School bus. I had so many I remember reading about that moments. I recommend a tour guide. We used Smile travel Egypt. Our tour guide Hassan was amazing. Here’s a list of things to do while in Cairo: Dinner Cruise on the Nile, Pyramids of Giza Sphinx Sakkar pyramids and tombs Memphis, Egyptian Museum Citadel in Cairo Coptic City. We also went shopping in old Cairo Bazzar.
I had an amazing time in Cuba! I wish I would have stayed a little longer. Five days was just not enough. If you want to get the real Cuban experience I recommend staying with a local family visiting Trinidad, Varadero, and Vinales valley. Plan to stay for 7 days or more. I used Airbnb to book the 2 apartments and 1 casa. Now you can stay in a hotel but all of the decent hotels 4/5stars in my opinion are pretty pricey. When we arrived in Havana we stayed in a modern apartment in central Havanna great location https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/18998616?s=51 Robert (little English) and Chely (good English )are wonderful and will take care. In Trinidad Cuba we stayed with Teresa and her family. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19328827?s=51 The casa is about an 8 min walk to the center of the town where all the tourist things are. My friends and I stayed at her casa for 2 nights and she helped arrange all of our activities and made us breakfast for 5 cuc and it was delicious. She gave us a card with her address and that's what we used to get back to her casa when we went walking around the town on our own. I recommend staying here she will take care of you like you are part of the family. She doesn't speak any English so brush up on your Spanish or download google translate offline it was our saving grace. The last apartment we stayed in was my favorite. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/17223917?s=51 The apartment is located in Nevado neighborhood. Not only is it very well located but you can also experience the daily life of Cubans in this neighborhood. Our stay at Alexei's place was incredible. Alex and his brother Abel were truly amazing and helpful from when I inquired about the apartment to my departure of the country. The apartment was clean, warm and cozy; breakfast ($5.00 CUC per person/per day) was delicious and worth it; the pictures on Airbnb was accurate and there is WIFI!!!!!!!!
