A Little About Me:
I absolutely love travelling! There’s no better feeling getting on a plane and going to somewhere exciting. I like my holidays to be 5* luxurious as I see my vacations as a way to spend my hard-earned money. I love experiencing new cultures and foods, meeting new people and trying to learn new languages and traditions. I’m a true traveller at heart and have been to over 50 countries so far
My time in Sydney was short but well worth it! Obviously the most famous thing to go is visit the opera house! There’s a really nice bar next to it where you can sit and have drinks and take your insta pics with the opera house in the background. During my time there I also climbed the Sydney Harbour bridge. This was a fun day out and only took about 3–4 hrs. Our climbing guide was really good and engaging and answered all questions about the history of Sydney. Once at the top, the views were INSANE! You can see for miles and Sydney is truly beautiful. I also visited Bondi beach during my time there. The beach is stunning and as it was a super hot day, it was packed! There are vendors selling ice cold drinks so you don’t need to travel far If you get thirsty. We wanted to go to the infamous bar with the infinity pool next to the sea, howeve the pool didn’t look as good as all the pictures we’ve seen on Instagram. The pool looked greeny dirty as all the seaweed from the sea had got inside. I’m sure once it’s cleaned it probably looks great, but for that reason we decided not to go. Ultimately I loved my time in Sydney and I can’t wait to go back!
Like most countries in Asia you will find that a lot of people will stare at you just because you’re black. This happened to me while in Kuala Lumpur and it was like they thought I was a celebrity or something. People will ask to take pictures with you simply because they are in awe. One guy was on FaceTime to his family and kept trying to sneakily record me in the background to show me to whoever he was talking to....in the end I just walked up to him and said hi to the person- he was shocked haha! But I untimately I felt very safe in KL. from my experience, they love black people and they definitely embraced me.
There’s so much to do in Nassau. I stayed at the Hilton Colonnial and it’s right in the centre of town. Everywhere you want to be is only a short walk away! There’s a really cool gamers store next door to the hotel where you can play arcade games and they also offer Virtual reality experiences. We payed for 2 VR games and they gave us an extra one for free! If you would like something a bit more cultural, please visit the Slavery Museum in town. It was only $3 to get in and it was worth every single penny!! It was an eye opening experience and a really good way to learn about the history of Nassau and open your eyes to its Slavery history. The actual building of the slavery museum used to be a slave auction house. Junkanoo beach is also a really nice beach if you want to relax on the beach. There’s sooo many huts selling food and there’s so much choice of different dishes. I sat on the beach with some amazing authentic Jerk chicken and mac n cheese with reggae blasting in the background- it was perfect. A little further up from Junkanoo beach is the fish fry. Again, loads of restaurants there and they all specialise in seafood. The Conch salad there will blow you away! During my stay in the Bahamas we also headed up to Paradise beach (next to Atlantis) the sand on that beach is absolutely beautiful. We hired beach chairs for $10 apiece and the guys on the beach really looked after us. They sell coconuts for $20 with unlimited rum punch all day....and trust me, your coconut is never empty. They are so good with coming over to refill your drink. We spent the whole day there and struggled to walk afterwards haha! My favourite thing to do in Nassau was the boat trip, which was such a highlight for us! It’s organised by Nassau Boat tours. The boat picked us up from the dock at 10am and returned us at 6pm. Again there was unlimited rum punch allllll day (tip: make sure you eat breakfast prior). Captain Angelo really looked after us well. There was music blasting all day and we even let us connect so we could play our own music also. He took us on a tour of all the celebrity mansions around the Bahamas, we went snorkelling and we also swam with turtles. Finally he took us to Rose island. That island is completely STUNNING and there was no one else on the beach, we had the whole place to ourselves. The water was crystal clear and it was literally pure paradise. I’ve been to the Bahamas quite a few times and it still remains one of my favourite places in the world, I can’t wait to go back!
