The National Museum of African American History and Culture in DC is a must see. One trip will not be enough. Begin by taking the elevator below ground where you are met by small dark spaces and slave ship artifacts. Work your way up to present day and be immersed in culture, entertainment and all around good feelings. Best of all, the museum is free. Tickets can be reserved on the website.
