London, is one of my favorites. I felt beyond welcome in the country and the city! I ran into plenty of other people of color who were also enjoying there time there. SOHO is the place to be for all the action. Theres plenty of stores to shop, places to eat and countless bars. I loved Freedom nightclub, it's the only club I've ever been where I saw EVERY SINGLE person dancing; it was amazing! Cote restaurant is also in the SOHO district be sure to stop by the service is nothing you've gotten before and the food is one of the best I've had, EVER. When you're picking a place to stay be sure to stay near the center of London, anywhere else may be cheaper but you'll spend a ton of money trying to get to the center. The Buckingham Palace is so beautiful at night and if you see the flag raised, that means the queen is inside. I cannot rave about how lovely the people were, they knew no color they just were nice to everyone it seemed. I love London and can't wait to visit again.
Costa Rica is one of my favorite places to visit. It's like a piece of heaven on earth. Whenever I go, I make sure to fly CopaAir, usually under $200 RT from Orlando, FL. I especially like that airline because of the REAL food and free beer or wine. Do venture out to the southeast side as I found there was so much more to do there. It is a 3 hour drive from San Jose but it's flat ground and goes by pretty quick. Airbnb is your way to go, I stayed in a tree house for $45/night in Quepos, five minutes from Manuel Antonio National Park. Do not pay for the tour of the National Park, it's a waste of money because they show you everything you've seen if your eyes were open (obvious things haha). Check out Jaco which is one hour away from Quepos for the night life! Check crowd and so many bars and cheap places to eat within walking distance. El Santaurio Canopy Adventure Tour has a great zip lining deal with food and transportation included. If you don't do anything, make sure you find Nauyaca Waterfall! It's about a 2 hour hike but soooooooo worth it! A beautiful 2 part fall with places to swim and flat area to sit and take it all in.
I went to Barbados for my birthday in February for $200 RT on JetBlue from Fort Lauderdale, FL. I stayed in a an Airbnb called "Heart of Rockley Ultra Modern Apartment" in Bridgetown. There is plenty to do in Barbados such as: jet skiing with Peterpan at Pebbles Beach, attending the fish fry in St. Lawrence Gap on Friday night, a catamaran lunch cruise (drinks & buffet included for $75). The cruise was my favorite because of the ambiance, the music was great the whole day, we stopped to snorkel with turtles 3 times, and received a full tour of the west coast of the island. Be sure to check out Bathsheba Beach on the east coast. All transportation on the bus is $1 USD or $2 Barbadian dollars to anywhere on the island. Tapas and Castaways restaurants are both a great place for dinner with a spectacular view, both are feet away from the water.
