    Traveling While Black

The pic is from one of our many festivals. We host the Tom Tom Festival. The Virginia Film festival. The Virginia festival of the book. And might I add, Hollywood (Spike Lee Ava Duvernay and many others premiere their movies in our film festival). I'm born and raised in the city. Charlottesville is a multi cultural small city. It's "Liberal," as most college/university towns are. The food is amazing, and the wine culture is second only to Cali. I saw one reviewer mention the Unite the right rally; those people weren't from Charlottesville and chose to use Charlottesville because it's a liberal city. The news didn't show how they got ran out of the city by both Black and white people. (Those same folks marched in DC, chocolate city; and came back later to storm the capital... but I digress) Charlottesville is a great place to raise a family. There's a reason why it's always near the top of most lists as a best place to live in the United States every year. It's not the cheapest destination, but it 100% safe for Black people. It is a world-class little city with some of the most brilliant minds in the country living here. Blessings.
