Anoka has a few places that give off a nice old town vibe. They are one of the, if not the biggest city attraction in Minnesota when it comes to Halloween. I have a white friend who lives in Anoka, and I used to come up to visit her very often.
When I walk around town with her, she has stated that for some reason people are staring at her for long periods of time, giving her weird vibes. She mentioned that she’s never experienced this with her husband or other white friends. It’s only when she is with me that we get stares.
I’ve also felt like this, specifically with this city. I can go to every other city and once I enter Anoka, its all of a sudden different. As I have come to notice this pattern, I tend to stay away from Anoka unless I direly need something.
