I visited the Azores Islands in March 2017 and spent most of my time on Terceira. It is a very green island with a two small cities and lots of small villages. It was very picturesque and I don’t think it is a place for big nightlife and excitement. I felt safe traveling there solo. The locals were polite. I didn’t see many Black people (visitors or locals) but I didn’t feel uncomfortable. Over the years there’s been more tourism to the Azores and I suspect that more people of color are going there. A pretty and relaxing place that is a little off the beaten track. I give it a thumbs up.
