Just got back from a trip to Rio last week with my 4 friends (all black) Had a great time and highly recommend. Food is great and super cheap prices, people are friendly and some of the best beaches I’ve been to. Never felt out of place, in fact more often than not people would assume we were local Portuguese. For first time travellers I’d just say to watch for some of the people on the beach selling stuff. Pay cash on the beach if you can because they did try and tap my cousins card for quite a large amount but other than that one moment had a great trip.
