Copan Ruinas, Honduras

We travelled to the ruins from Guatemala. We used Mayaadventures.com as our guide and transportation to and from Honduras, they also helped us get over the border ($3 USD pp one way). We enjoyed eating authentic Guatemalan and Honduran food along the way. We we to see the ancient Copan Ruinas which are 3000 years old with 16+ dynasties. Learned more about Mayan history and afterwards explored the Copan city. After an overnight we woke up and visited Macaw Mountain which is a sanctuary for endangered birds including Macaws, Parrots, Owls, Hawks and other colorful birds where they rehabilitate and mate to reintroduce them back into the environment. Then we b Van the long journey back to Guatemala. Guatemala does have a lot of traffic, so pack your patience because a trip that should be 3-4 hours could take double the time. Definitely a worthwhile visit.
