This is review 3 of 23 in a group of writings I call, “A quick deep look at local Cali
stopping grounds”. These cities I have all been in and grown up around and
would like to share my experiences with the community. I hope these reviews
help someone , now, without further delay, let’s get started. The large diverse
suburb that could… just be ready for some rudeness in its ‘Ol time’ area. Elk
Grove is very VERY safe for our people. Most folks will travel up and down Elk
Grove for shopping, eating, and the hotels (a few are right off of the Laguna exit on
highway 99 like this one: 9175 W. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 95758 ) which
many are strategically positioned near one another. Popular places to eat that I used
to enjoy in Elk Grove are: 5 Guys, BJ’s, In- n-Out Burgers and The Habit – which
is further down laguna blvd. There is also a decent amount of Black owned
businesses in the area as well. Our people should not have many issues at
all in Elk Grove – outside our normal day to day Black experience- at least not in
the modern areas of Elk Grove. If you do venture into Ol’Elk Grove, you will come
across folks who might be a bit more bold in their rudeness. That being said, I
personally have not met anyone ‘froggy’ enough to put their ‘money where their
mouth is’ . All that being said I would definitely recommend taking a quick trip to
Elk Grove if you are in the area.
