Traveling while Black was ok though it seemed to be a challenge a my hotel .
Staying at the Royalton Antigua was the absolute worse experience of my travel experience and I’ve been to five continents and countless countries. The photo is from “lovely garden room” (which I had been switched to w/o my approval) which faced a wall, dirt and a trash can. From our arrival, when the time to check in exceeded 3 hours to this room to my lost coat and more, the service that came from reception/front desk to an hour to get towels for bathing tho the room had been “cleaned” to more than two hours in a restaurant to get dinner was abysmal.
Every time I called or went to the front desk to get information (esp when I wanted to speak to someone about the room), I was told the manager was in a meeting (day or night) and would call me back. They never did.
The best part of the resort are the employees, who are very helpful, professional and courteous. They do have a separate desk/office to deal with owners, the vast majority seem to be “not like us”. And that desk is always staffed and their response to suite owners and higher end rooms.
I feel as if I literally threw my money away and would never recommend this place. It *is* all inclusive: unlimited drinks, food and screaming dj music all of which is average and entertainment is meh. You can have fun here but it will depend on your friends and there’s not a lot of quiet. Not worth the money.
