Joburg is a great city to visit if it is your first time traveling to the continent of Africa. South Africa is super diverse on its own and Joburg gives the vibes of NYCx ATL. The city is so lively, busy with so much to do, couple that with the rich history of South Africa, the culture and vibrant neighborhoods such as Braam or Sandton it’s an all in one destination. I feel completely safe as a Black American woman traveling. I love that there are affordable beauty and hair services fit for a black woman from neat braids, lashes, pedicures and spa services. I would recommend Julez for hair braiding while you are there, you can book an appointment before you arrive. Also, there are pretty cool co working offices such as Workshop 17, so you can still handle business while you vacation. Highly recommend a visit to Joburg !
