Come for the full moon party and stay for the views, the activities, the island parties and more! I came in November for the full moon party, the biggest beach party in the world, and was NOT disappointed. Get a hostel or hotel EARLY because they get booked up too fast! And they get expensive. Also, the tuktuks are annoying in that they wait to fill up to take you to the other side of the island as the pier is about 40 minutes from Haadrin, where the full moon party is. Highly recommend a trip here for the full moon party and the island itself!

Hands down the BEST time of my life. The Full Moon party is a MUST ! I stayed at a hostel, The Dancing Elephant. This hostel was THE PARTY. Met so many super cool people. At night, beer pong tables came out, djs came out, and happy hour drink specials. The beach is located super close too. The hostel set up all the activities for Full Moon. Ie: the jungle party( they drop you off in the middle of nowhere and basically you party in this pit with all your new friends)
There is a restaurant called Maddies that I stayed at everyday…cheap, but best Thai food I’ve ever had. You can even see Maddie cooking day and night from your seat.
The staff was bomb ! Super nice people and available for whatever you needed. There really isn’t much privacy at this hostel. We stayed in a 15 bed room and it goes up to 25 Beds I believe. still super cheap and amazing nightlife, like sun up to sun up nightlife !

If your planning a trip to Thailand and enjoy partying, this island is a must during there monthly full moon party. 5,000 to 30,000 party goers from all over the world come to live it up for one night under the gaze of the full moon on Haad Riin Beach on beautiful Koh Phonang. Book your hotels way in advance of the party date as the rooms around Haad Riin Beach get sold out quick. Sure you can stay on the further side of the island, but its not the best move. Parting hard and then getting in Tuk Tuk for 20 minute drives while intoxicated isn’t the best use of time or safest choice to be frank. Check out my vlog where i attend the full moon party so you can get a preview of what to expect. bit.ly/ebisfmp

Koh Phagnan is by far the best trip I’ve had so far in my life. The people are totally nice they are very brown people which we (blacks) we’re the 1st Asians. Me and my girlfriend came from Bangkok to Koh Phagnan by a plane, bus, & lastly a ship. We got out of the ship realizing how much of a difference their world is compared to ours and it was weird to feel but a positive blessing to see and understand. Thai people speak Central Thai but they also spoke English. They’re very open to languages especially due to so much tourism. We stayed in an Airbnb in an area called Baan Jo which was PERFECT for the Island but didn’t like the lizards even though we accepted that is there world. Bahts Are the currency there which is VERY cheap compared to Western civilizations. The island is full of Elephants, monkeys, & rhinos to see! They have vegan, German, American, Thai, & more amazing restaurants! The Amsterdam Bar & Top Rock Bar is amazing you can also smoke weed there. Every where is palm trees! We rented a motor scooter and they sale them for cheap. There’s a lot of stray dogs so beware even though they were cool. We enjoyed this big party they have every month which is called “The Full Moon Party” with a lot of people but at the same time there music was very main stream. Koh Phangan is the definition of paradise.
