I am a local resident of Las Vegas, and have been here since 2019. So I wanted to give a prospective as a resident, and not a tourist before people decide to move to Las Vegas off one good vacation.
Although Las Vegas is a great tourist destination, outside of that there’s really nothing else. The cost of living is high, especially if you’re wanting to live in a safe location and/or prefer Luxury. Getting a job is a didfeeent animal in itself, as Vegas is a gambling city. So with that being said, majority of locations will require work cards; which range anywhere from $50-$150 a piece, and you may need multiple depending on the job. You also can not get the work cards, until you have an actual job offer. This is not a heavy call center/corporate city, so if that’s where you’re coming from be prepared to change paths.
The local food is terrible, and 90% of all fast food locations have a 3 star rating or below. It’s hard to find good black food, and Mexican food here. The best local spots are off the grid, mom & pop locations; that are not on The Strip.
Dating on this city as a Black Woman is terrible, as Vegas is the city of sin, majority are not dating for commitment love or marriage. Sex is overly saturated, and promoted here.
Pay is not equal here for black residents, a lot of people don’t know or fail to remember the history of Las Vegas. It was no less racist here than any other city in the country, at one point black people weren’t even allowed to go into the casinos or be on the Strip; that barely changed in the late 1960’s and Vegas used to be called Lil’ Mississippi.
If you’re looking for something that’s off strip, not gambling and is very interactive, I suggest Area 15. Groupon has tickets from time to time and it’s a whole interactive experience. Outside looks like Mad Max or Fallout New Vegas signs and inside are places like an interesting medium, 80’s arcade bar, axe throwing, etc
My favorite place here is Omega Mart created by Meowolf. My wife and I were here for over 4 hours between the puzzles, interactive exhibits, photo ops and just overall weirdness that I loved. There are adult slides, a section you can create beats, just a lot that is best experienced with a group of friends. Sometimes they have concerts in here too. If you’re staying on strip and have a car, it’s on the other side of the interstate behind the Bellagio. Uber is cheap to take there too
Great destination. If you are looking for a fun girls trip or bachelorette party. We stayed at the Cosmopolitan and would recommend the hotel. Pro tip: If you are a Marriott Bonvoy member you can book this hotel with Marriott loyalty points.
Some of the things we did that were fun were shooting at the gun range, go kart racing, all you can eat crab buffet, and indoor roller coaster. Of course we went to the clubs also and they had a really good time!
Overall there’s a lot to do other than just gambling in Vegas!
I live in the Columbus Ohio area it is a good place for black people to vacation at. There are a lot of nightlife in the downtown/short north area. There are also two very popular shopping malls known as Easton and Polaris Mall. The Ohio state campus also has great places for travelers to enjoy.
So I went to Vegas one of the best experiences that I had was at planet 13 dispensary how are you and was really good we say that the vacation getaway and we went to the Hard Rock Cafe casino in the club after you have a great time. We also went shopping we went rollerskating at the new black owned Roller Skating Rink five Floyd Mayweather and we also tried out the strip club
When you travel to Las Vegas and want some fun things to do. Check out what shows or exhibits are being highlighted at different casinos. For example Michael Jackson ONE is a great show to see reimagined dances for his classic songs. If concerts are not your thing, look for exhibits like the new HUNGER GAMES exhibit or immersive Disney. I Advice that you look up parking garages that do not charge for parking near your casino. Parking can be 35 or more for just a few hours. It may be a walk away to park, but just know when walking the strip there are plenty of photo opportunities on the way.
How can I not mention Vegas! Still in my 20’s and meeting people my own age, we would buy a drink on the strip, sit on the sidewalk and just enjoy the sights and sounds . I went skydiving here! I felt completely safe even being out at night after 12. I didn’t really try to win money but I played a few machines. I was staying with a Taiwanese guy and Filipino girl during my visits and it was great. But everyone knows Vegas is bomb.
I booked the Luxor Hotel specifically for the
TOWER PREMIUM KING ROOM on a solo trip…. The room is very chic with floor to ceiling windows which gives a great view of the strip.
My flight ended up being very delayed and I got in late that night. Though my room was already booked and paid for I ended up with a room that faced another building. 0 view! And my floor to ceiling window just ended up serving as a mirror because it was so dark. The rooms are first come first serve even if you pay in advance so I was stuck with a crappy room. The hotel and room were beautiful but this is something to be mindful of. If you can avoid it, don’t check in late.
I found, what I felt was a great package deal for $755.82 to Las Vegas. This included a round-trip flight from my hometown to Las Vegas;, and four nights at Bally’s Las Vegas Resort and Casino, This price did not include the $39.95 (resort) or $18 (parking) daily fees. Tip #1: If you don’t want to pay resort and parking fees, definitely book an off-strip hotel or look for online lists of places with no fees. Overall, this was a great place to stay as a Black woman, traveling solo, because many employees were Black and there were also lots of Black families and individuals staying as guests.
Finding the parking garage was a bit of a challenge for me. The GPS took me to where Bally’s sign was apparent. However, the sign on the building said “Food Court.” To get to the garage, I had to turn right onto Las Vegas Blvd. and then make another immediate right onto Flamingo Rd. I then saw the “Self-Parking” sign and followed it to the garage. It was still tricky as the left turn into the garage is narrow and seems as if it might be one-way but it’s not.
Bally’s was the most economical deal I could find for the dates that I needed. I was afraid to check reviews and videos because the price had been so low, compared to other places. I was pleasantly surprised by what I thought would be a busted, budget resort. There were quite a few people of African descent working at the check-in desk, which heightened my comfort level. I had arrived early, expecting that I’d be able to go to my room if it had been cleaned already. However, Vegas is not like other places. Tip #2: If you arrive early, expect to pay a fee if you want entry to your room before check-in time. I didn’t care to pay $22 extra dollars to get in an hour early so I just explored the hotel while I waited.
I booked a Resort Executive Suite King, Non-Smoking room (1498) for Nov 14-19, 2022 (Mon-Fri). The room was the size of a small apartment (around 700 sq ft) and high up so that I could enjoy something of a view of the city. There was a mini fridge but no microwave. I’m sure they’d probably have sent one up for a little fee but I didn’t need it. This room also had a deep soaking tub (jets would’ve been nice but no such luck) and a steam room-style shower that I loved. Not sure if they were providing daily housekeeping but I didn’t need it because there were TONS of towels since there were two vanities on either side of the room. I don’t think there was a coffeemaker either but I don’t drink it and didn’t care.
A plethora of food options were available. Bally’s shares space with the Paris Las Vegas Resort, which can be accessed by following the signs to the other side of the complex. Everything is under one roof so there’s no need to go outside to get to Paris, which has its own hotel rooms, casino, and restaurants. Bally’s has a food court on the basement level of the resort, containing Johnny Rockets, Nathan’s Hot Dogs, Subway, and a few other places. Regrettably, I ate at Johnny Rockets and Nathan’s. My experiences at those places were sub-par but you might fare better. Vegas has become a foodie city that I didn’t have enough time to explore, so I urge you to do so. My favorite food bite was a crepe (which I don’t usually even like) from La Creperie on the Paris side. I had the Monte Cristo and loved it…but not the price. Prepare for sticker shock! Prices are outrageous but Bally’s is very centrally located on the Strip. You will pay for this locale.
Tip #3: If you’re on a budget, I HIGHLY recommend using Instacart to make grocery purchases that can be delivered at no cost. I’m not sure if delivery is always free but it was while I was there. I shopped at the 99 Cents Only Store. Not everything was that price but everything was reasonable. For example, I purchased small containers of blackberries and raspberries (YES—fresh fruit!) for $1 each and bananas were only .60 per lb. Deliveries must be picked up from the Valet area but it wasn’t too far from my room and I was happy to get in my walking steps each day.
There are many things to do in Vegas. Bally’s and Paris have their own casinos but the Bellagio is located across the street where one can take the free tram to a limited number of other locations, nearby. I took it to the Crystal Shops (for those who enjoy shopping for designer items) and it also went to Aria Hotel. There’s also a monorail system but I had no time to check it out. I hope you will get to experience much of what Vegas has to offer. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a great place for US!
During my week Cali stay, a group of friends and I drove to Vegas and stayed for a couple of days before heading back to Cali. We checked in at the MGM hotel which was vey very nice!!! It was huge, with a casino, restaurants, and a couple of stores inside. That night we went to dinner at The Top of the World restaurant located at the top of the Strat Hotel. The experience & views were nice, but the food on the other hand was overpriced and not as good as I thought it was going to be. The next day we did ATV in the Arizona Desert. I also enjoyed that experience, but it was HOT! I’m from Florida and I can deal with the humidity but that dry heat is something serious. We took a dip in the Colorado river as part of the atv tour and at the end we went to a last stop joint where they fed us hamburgers or hotdogs with fries and a drink. Later on that night we walked the strip, where we saw the beautiful fountain show. It was so good that we came back twice to see it. The next day we ended up going to Wet n Wild Vegas. The sun had started to go down which made the water feel surprisingly cold. I hadn’t been to Wet ‘n Wild since they shut the one down here in Orlando,FL so that brought back some amazing memories. I didn’t even know there was a Wet ‘n Wild still open in the Americas. Overall it was a great trip. There was more to do, but we didn’t get to do it all. I highly recommend.
We ate at Hell’s Kitchen! If you are a fan of the show Hell’s Kitchen, then this place is for you!
You have to make reservations online. Reservations get booked quickly, so make sure to book as soon as possible! When you enter, there is a hall of fame of the past winners. You can take pictures in front of the kitchen. The food is based on the show. We ordered two appetizers, which are the Lobster Risotto and the Pan Seared Scallops. I ordered a drink called the Notes from Gordon. There is a note attached to it. I ordered a 3-course meal for lunch. I had Caesar’s Salad, the Beef Wellington, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. The food was delicious!
The Stratosphere is the tallest building in Las Vegas. It is best to come during the weekdays when it isn’t crowded. Also, when you are able to ride the rides. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to ride the X-Scream due to maintenance issues. Only on Mondays-Thursdays 3 PM-7 PM, they have Happy Hour! You can get two drinks for one price!
The Omega Mart is a fun and interactive attraction in Las Vegas. You can take pictures, discover different rooms, look at art displays, and solve a mystery. It’s best to come when it is not crowded, so you will be able to have a good experience!
We watch the MJ Live Show at the Strat. We hung out on Fremont Street, where you can eat, drink, and play the casinos. Also, you can watch the street performers.
We ate at Nacho Daddy, which is located by Fremont Street. Try their nachos and the Scorpion Shot.
You can walk on the strip and see the buildings. Watch the Bellagio Show, which comes on every 30 minutes.
Also, you can walk on LinQ Promenade, and go ziplining on Fly Linq.
Drive to the Hoover Dam, which is 40 minutes away. It is a sight to see.
Leaving the touristy area of Las Vegas was the best decision that I made during my trip. The further away from the strip, the more you will experience the natural beauty of Nevada! I would recommend renting a car to visit the “Seven Magic Mountains” located 30minutes outside of Las Vegas!
It is the most “instragramable” art exhibit in Nevada. If you travel alone, make sure to bring a tri-pod with you so you can capture the essence around you without the extra hassle.
Nevada is full of adventure! There are a handful of National Parks and hiking trails to explore as well.
The Valley of Fire is another area that I explored while visiting! Don’t be afraid to get out there and get dirty in the desert! It only takes an hour and a half to reach the state park!
As for food and drink recommendations, the downtown area of Old Vegas is THE PLACE TO BE! It is less expensive compared to the strip and the ambiance is amazing! I felt very comfortable as a black woman in this area. The Downtown Grand Hotel is the best place that I stayed at in Vegas!
Absolutely love Vegas.
City of Las Vegas is the 28th-most populated city in the United States, the most populated city in the state of Nevada
The strip, the restaurants and food is delicious. There are so many activities and shows to be entertained by.Talk about the Mandela bay shark aquarium, the famous volcano show, the mirage water show etc.
shopping, fine dining, entertainment, and nightlife make me wish that my mini vacation had never end.Went there for the 2nd time this February and am got sure going back again. Its a cool place to escape to have fun after months of hard work and family life.
VEGAS BABYY! I was in Vegas for my birthday weekend. A blast.
Here’s a few good hotels to stay at : The Venetian, the Palazzo, the Bellagio, MGM, Ceasars, SLS
As you walk on the Vegas strip while drinking you 5ft drink you can stop by the attractions on the way such as Madame Tussaud and many more.
Night life wise: just by walking on the strip you’ll be approached by promoters and you’ll know where it’s at.
Drai’s Nightclub (they often have celebrities over), Cameo, Tao, Laos, Marquee, Omnia are good ones
Also a tour for the Grand Canyon, antelope (underrated), Spring Valley totally is a must.
I absolutely loved Vegas and I would definitely go again! We stayed at the Venetian hotel by the strip – WOW! It’s fancy, affordable and great for relaxing too. What I loved most about the Las Vegas Strip was the amazing vibe and atmosphere, which you just can’t explain. I loved the restaurants, and just how clean and full of life the Vegas Strip was – especially at night!
There’s plenty to do, but if you’re like me and you like adventure, art, bright colours, outdoors and stunning Instagram pics, you have to take a short left (mini road trip) to the Seven Magic Mountains!!! this is a bunch of neon rocks stacked on top of each other. It’s about 25 minutes Uber drive from the Strip. You can ask your Uber driver to wait while you take in the view and take a few pictures (since there’s no Wifi, unless you have a local sim card). It’s a pretty sight!
I just got back from Vegas a week ago and let me tell you…it surely didn’t disappoint. I went on a girls trip with my 2 bestfriends and we had the time of our lives. There’s so much to do from night life, activities, drinking, to adventure. We stayed at the Westgate which is off the strip but we brought a pass for the monorail so we got on/off the strip very easily. Buying a monorail pass is something I highly recommend when it comes to getting around. We purchased it off of Groupon and it was affordable and work it vs using Uber’s. Already planning a trip back next summer!
Las Vegas is always a nice place to visit. I’ve been to vegas 4 times so far and every time has been great.
The last time I was in Vdara Hotel, was very nice and clean. The nicest was the ATV tour. I work for some Fashion campaign And we had a photoshoot in suit before our ATV tour and then we were on the road for over 2 hours and We paid only $ 100 per person. I would recommend this to everyone. I had fun :))
For nightlife I recommend visiting Drais, best hip hop and it is the largest. The outside area overlooks the city (club is located on highest floor). They get free performances by migos, Chris brown etc. The worst club it Tao, it extremely small and is very overrated. For hotels I recommend Mandalay Bay, it’s very nice and clean. The worst hotel is flamingo, it’s very outdated, desk are chipped and there’re black mold.
On the strip BEWARE of men handing out stripper business cards.
Las Vegas for Halloween 10/31-11/3/19
Thursday
We arrived in Vegas on Thursday for Halloween. We stayed at the Candlewood Suites which was off the strip but was still in walking distance. This hotel is cost efficient and the rooms were really clean, spacious, and equipped with a full kitchen. Halloween night we left out around 10-11pm and went to Freemont Street. Freemont street was packed. They had some sort of live Halloween themed show going on outside. So we just enjoyed the vibes, drank, and walked around. I will say the bar we got our drinks from (can’t remember the name) but it was near the end of where people got off of the zipline. Those drinks had us lit the whole night and we only had 1 (you’ll see what i’m talking about in my vlog that I’ll leave the link down below)
Friday
During the day went to the strip and hit up Caesar’s Palace to play on slots and went inside the mall that was attached to Planet Hollywood got food at Blondie’s (the garlic shrimp pasta was pretty good) and walked around a bit more.
Later that night we got on a party bus that went to 3 different clubs (Foundation Room, Light, Jewel). The party bus cost $30 pp, you get 1 free drink on the bus, and you are on the bus with other people. The F.R has a nice view but the crowd was a bit older i.e 30’s & up and the music was eh mediocre. Inside Light, the club’s setup is nice. Music was more current Hip Hop & Top 40 and the crowd was mixed (ages and ethnicities). Last club was Jewel, I didn’t really care for this club they were playing EDM while I was there. By this point me and half the group I was with decided to leave. The others that stayed said they switched up the music and the vibes got “better” lol.
Saturday
Vegas really takes a toll on your body, we didn’t get up and going to about 5pm ?.
Omg we did so much walking this day. We basically stayed on the strip, and hopped around to different Hotels. The Venetian and rode on the Gondola ride (so cute & romantic if you are on a date). Bally’s, Palazzo, Bellagio (to catch the water show), MGM, Top Golf, OYO (I learned how to play roulette my new favorite game), and Paris Hotel. By this point my feet were DONE, the shoes I had on were so uncomfortable. So if you are walking the strip wear comfortable shoes!!!
Sunday
Last day in Vegas. We ate at this Spanish Restaurant called Firefly. Their Veggie and Seafood Paella was flavorful.
Conclusion
I feel that if I come to Vegas again i’m going to have to come during Memorial Day Weekend (which is the littest time) to get a full epic Vegas experience. Going during this time was fun, but I feel like I didn’t get to experience the popping clubs like Drais, the pool parties (it wasn’t pool weather). But I will say during this weekend it was major events going on such as the (Day n Vegas Festival, and a fight Canelo vs Kovalev) But that’s not what I was coming to Vegas for initially so ??♀️.
My VlOG for this weekend can be found here:

Vivaaaa Las Vegassss! Affordability at its finest! Most clubs are free if you meet promoters and get there on time. I partied at Hyde located in the Bellagio hotel. Cosmo is best hotel I’ve stayed at in Vegas. Even though the Cosmopolitan is a 5 star hotel still the price is right. You can easily grab a luxury room rated $100-$200 a night. Located across the street near planet Hollywood you can find Bubba Gumps Shrimp! If you think you know the movie “Forrest Gump” come try the movie trivia. Girls trips and birthdays you will never forget happen in Vegas. Or the Hangover happens because it is very possible lol.
Our stay in Vegas was FANTASTIC !!! There was so many things to do,places to seee, activities to part take it.
We were never board. There were times where we felt as though we were in a different country when visiting every hotel. But I must say our favorite place was a restaurant called The WindMill !! The burgers there are INCREDIBLE .I still dream about them from time to time. Vegas is a must!!!
I went to Vegas for the first time with a group of friends. We stayed Tuesday – Thursday and when we got there we hit the ground running.
Stepped off the plane, hit the ATM and the liquor store before we took an Uber to our Hotel (The Uber and Lyft service at the airport is so well organized, I loved it!). Got to our hotel, showered, and my friend already had us on a list at Hyde in the Bellagio. We got 2 free drink tickets (champagne or vodka) but turned out they had open bar that night, so we tipped well and got free drinks all night. This place was nice, not too strict on dress code (I had on jeans and open toe flats but there were some folks who were all dolled up). The music and energy was great.
For the ladies its pretty easy to find night life, just walk down the strip and the promoters will come up to you. My advice is to put your name on all the lists, research the clubs and then choose what you want. Also, ask questions if they’re offering a bottle its likely vodka but you don’t drink vodka ask for something else, they may say no or they may give you a discounted price.
We went to 1Oak, I’ll go back if there’s a better DJ. we had 2 free drink tickets (champagne only) and it was packed but no one was dancing everyone was kind of just taking pictures. It was more of a “I ended up at 1oak” clout club, but not horrible. I’m sure it would’ve been just find if the DJ that night was better. OH, they charge $11 for a bottle of water and they only serve bottles. I thought the man was joking when he told me that.
We did a Party Bus Club Tour (thanks to Groupon) Where we enjoyed an open bar on the party bus and went to Hustler (not a fan, we sat in a corner and charged our phones), then Drais which was super fun, then Tao (my favorite!) Dj mustard was at Tao and he chose me to get a free shot for being a Gemini during Gemini season so my opinion on Tao may be biased. But the music was great, it was packed but everyone was having a great time and dancing.
We went to Drai’s Beachclub for a day pool party drinks are about $15+ and the music here was just ok. We sat around the pool. It was Memorial Day Weekend and it for some reason wasn’t that warm so we only put our feet in the water.
Meek Mill was at Drais our last night so we bought Drais After-hours tickets thinking it was the same club with late entry. Wrong! It is an entirely different nightclub and it was so dry.
In addition to nightlife we also did a bus tour of the Hoover Dam (again, Groupon always looks out!) super fun experience and got a history lesson. We zip-lined at Linq (discounted with Groupon), as well as enjoyed discounted brunch at the Flamingo (again, thanks Groupon). If you’re looking for a discounts, hit Groupon and read the reviews before purchasing!
Overall Vegas was a blast and we didn’t get to do everything we had our hearts set on so you know what that means, I will surely be back soon!
Viva Las Vegas! One of my favorite places! Never a dull moment and always something to do. I personally prefer to stay along the Las Vegas strip when visiting, each hotel has different things to offer while still giving the same Las Vegas vibe the city is famously known for. Each hotel has a different theme from Egyptian at the Luxor hotel to French at the Paris hotel. My personal fav is The Flamingo hotel which is situated between some of the hottest bars and clubs and the best attractions (zip lining and the famous high roller). Some hotels have attractions such as amusement parks and other fun and romantic attractions. Every hotel on the strip and many free standing places are filled with restaurants (both high end, low end and famous eatery’s), clubs, bars, shops. Even if you aren’t staying at a specific hotel, you can visit each one via there mall, casino, restaurants, bars, etc.
Las Vegas is the spot to be if you love to party, gamble and have a great time.
We stayed at the Vdara hotel which was connected to the Bellagio Hotel giving you access to the strip. Clubs are basically free if you sign up to be on their guest list. You can do this by using google prior fo your trip. If not don’t panic, there are tons of persons stopping and asking you to join their guest list. We visited popular attractions such as Fremont Street- where my heart stopped just before zip lining, The Eiffel Tower was also a pretty good imitation of the one in Paris The view from the top was breathtaking. Madame Tussauds wax museum was pretty cool.
I’m no gambler and I HATE losing my money. My friends and I attempted and won $30.
We attempted the helicopter ride on the last night but the winds picked up resulting in cancellation.
Please feel free to visit my IG page @Dachae.Ells for pics and vids of my trip to Vegas!
Las Vegas was awesome. It was great to visit without gambling. I am not a gambler. So, I was very pleased with the other things to do. The David Copperfield and George Wallace shows were very good. Visiting the Mob Museum and the CSI experience was interesting. But, my favorite thing to do was visiting the Red Rock Canyon. Viewing the different rock formations and colors were fun.
We went to Vegas in August for my husbands birthday and it was like an oven…HOT!!! We enjoyed where we stayed though. :) We stayed at the Hilton Elara in a suite. It’s a resort style beautiful 4-star hotel and located right in the center of the stip (across from the Cosmopolitan). You have to walk through the mall (Miracle Mile Shops) to get to it which was a pain at times but we got used to it. And the mall has over 170 stores and restaurants so it was easy to shop. Also, there is no casino in the hotel either which is nice because you don’t have to smell all the cigarette smoke or hear a bunch of slot machines all night.
If traveling to Vegas (while black) just know from the begining there aren’t too many clubs catered to hip hop/ R &B. There really only is Drais (nightclub and after hours) and Blue Martini on sundays. (Very repetitive crowd) but there are tons of food options especially off the strip that most don’t know about. If you have a car try driving to Tc’s Rib Crib for great BBQ, or rolling smoke. (AMAZE BALLS) If you love greek try .. Yannis Greek on las vegas blvd. Sushi is great and affordable (especially all you can eat) in China town on spring mountain as well as them having a place called Mothers korean all- you can eat thats amazing as well. If your on the strip and want a nice fancy 5 star dinner head over to STK, CATCH (great photo op!) and Ruth Chris. Drinks are expensive on the strip for the most part but don’t be afraid to head downtown to check out the nightlife and some pubs and clubs with cheaper drink prices such as Gold Spike.
We started off with Las Vegas as the first leg of trip around America in 2018. We went in February so though the weather wasn’t the hottest it was OK however it did get really cold at night. It probably isn’t the best period if you’re looking to enjoy a few pool parties. February means no pool, no outside dining or drinking, clubs usually keep outdoor areas closed. The nightlife however was great! We frequented Drais Nightclub which played Hiphop and R&B. We had a good time in XS also (would recommend) alongside Encore and Omnia.
I’ve been to vegas twice and each time there is always something to do at night. There are always clubs , bars and restaurants open late on the strip ( talking past 3am). So even if you head out late you will always be able to get into something. Drais nightclub was one of my favorites. The club often features celeb performances which turn out to be mini concerts. The night club also has an after hours lounge ( Drais after hours) if you’re not ready to call it a night around 4 am. The casinos also are 24 hours a day. If clubbing is not your thing there are plenty of shows ( magic shows , concerts etc ) that you can get into in the evening.
Some family and I visited Vegas in August and it was HOT‼️ Super HOT lol!! We stayed at the Venetian, it was very nice and huge!! While I’m Vegas you will NEVER EVER get bored!! There is so much to do, 24 hours a day, the city never sleeps lol!! Endless clubs, restaurants, sightseeing, dispensaries, shows, and casinos!! We took a day trip to Arizona, which was Amazing!! I definitely suggest visiting Vegas, just not in August unless you like being HOT lol!!
I had A LOT of fun on this trip, but I would advise you to be careful before you go.
Have the maximum amount of cash on you and avoid over-using your credit card when making payments. It will be better for you to book a 4 or 5 star hotel or Airbnb.
I was anxious before planning this trip because I had received enough negative feedback about this city but everything went very well for me, I would like to plan a second visit.
Vegas is more than a party place! I recently went to Vegas for the third time and I got to visit the Grand Canyon which is breathtaking! I also did a hot air ballon ride with Vegas ballon rides for $175 which was very enjoyable! I also stopped by Seven Magic Mountains which is approximately 30 minutes from the Vegas strip and a really nice spot for pictures. Then of course the partying is always lit! There’s so much fun to be had in Vegas and definitely worth going at least once in life!
Contrary to popular opinion I’m not a fan of Vegas. It’s cheesy to me. If you like to gamble and watch shows it’s the place for you. It’s more of a Bachelor/Bachelorette destination. Lots of walking which is beneficial because they have so many buffets. I wouldn’t go back.
I love going to Vegas man. Always a great time! Been so many times I’ll just give you the highlights:
-Stay somewhere central on the strip. Puts you right in the middle of the action. I’ve stayed at MGM Grand, The Aria, Planet Hollywood, and Caesar’s Palace.
-Do a combo of the monorail, walk, and Uber to save money and your feet lol.
-Do the ATVs in the desert(buy on Groupon) – This was fantastic. Be mindful to wear long tights cause you’re gonna get hot & dusty
-Do the rides at Stratosphere hotel. $40 for all of em. Worth it. Observation deck gives you the best views of Vegas
-Do the open bar option for the High Roller ferris wheel. Great deal, and great open bar. Som egreta aerial views of the Strip.
-Go to Old Vegas & do Slotzilla zipline. Not that long, but fun, and you fly over people.
-Do a tour to the grand Canyon. West Rim is only 2 hours away from Vegas.(Stay away from Groupon tours though)
Clubs/ Parties
-Always wait & hit up a promoter or promoters once you get settled in. Best way to go out. Also check out the Discotech app. Lists all the clubs, prices, and DJs that are doing sets. You can also book tables.
-Drai’s is always a good time; good vibes, good music, good people.
-Rehab Pool Party – great day party. Just be mindful of the strict dresscode.
-1OAK plays hip hop mainly, but was my favorite club
*GOOGLE LAS VEGAS CLUB CRAWLS!
Who doesn’t love Vegas?! This was my third time there, and it was to celebrate mine & my birthday twin’s birthdays! As usual Vegas is a good time as it is the turn up city! With every time I go I try to do new things. We stayed at the MGM Grand and Uber/ Lyft everywhere. Some very cool things to do/ we did are:
* ATV in the desert – This was an awesome experience. Be mindful to wear long tights or clothing as the sand is very hot!
* Top of the world restaurant – the views here were amazing! The dining area moves clockwise while you are catching views of Las Vegas. You are also able to see the people that do the sky jump as it’s in the same building. The food was nothing short of delicious.
* The Slotzilla of course is must if you are an adrenaline junkie like myself.
Clubs/ Parties
Always hit up a promoter or promoters in Vegas! Best way to go out here.
* Drai’s is always a good time; good vibes, good music, good people.
* Rehab Pool Party – is fun if you are lit. Be mindful of the strict dresscode.
* 1OAK plays good music – hip hop mainly the night i went.
This was my second time in Vegas and it was definitely better than my first. I stayed at the MGM Grand which was a lot more convenient than when I stayed at the Hard Rock last year. The Hard Rock is off the strip and you spend a lot of money on Ubers and taxis coming to the strip.
The MGM has the Hakassan night club right inside which is super convenient. However, the club hosts a lot of EDM DJs and artists so I only went there once since it’s not really my scene. They also host the Wet Republic pool parties and those are a lot of fun.
Getting around – I found out a little late that there is a strain that can take you up and down the strip – The Vegas Monorail. You could use this to get to the pool parties and clubs up and down the strip for cheap. You can buy anywhere form 1- 7 day ticket. One-Ride Ticket is $USD 5.00, a 1-Day Pass is $USD 13.00 and a 7-Day Pass is $USD 56.00. I definitely spent way more than this on Uber.
You can also use Uber and Taxi, but FYI each Uber I took down the strip was at least $8 one way, so depending on how many you’re taking a day monorail might be more cost effective. Most of these weren’t even up to 10 minutes long. I don’t recommend the taxis, my experience I 2017 they are so rude and entitled. They feel like they deserve a tip no matter what and they will tell you that.
Places to eat – you absolutely have to try Battista’s Hole In the Wall. For $25 you get a three course meal and a bottle of wine for each person. Pretty solid deal! It’s an Italian restaurant but they have lots of other stuff on the menu as well other than pasta and pizza. You also get a really amazing cappuccino at the end of your meal. I was so full and barely drank it and it pained me.
Clubs – there are always at least 3 top artists/Djs in town so every night is a party. At the top of the list are Light, Marque and Encore.
Pool Parties – Encore Beachclub, Daylight Beachclub and Rehab were my personal favourites. Best way to get to the pool parties is to walk around the strip and promoters will approach you and get you in for free. Usually the cut off time to get in free is 2 – 2:30 and the parties run from 11:00am to 5/6pm. We managed to see Pauly D, Migos and more for free!
Strip Clubs – I was super disappointed with Vegas strip clubs. I went to hustlers and sapphire. They were both trash and the girls couldn’t dance. If I had to pick I’d say try your luck with Saphire, but even its reviews online should have been enough warning for me not to waste my time. Their music is good though and it’s a chill vibe so you could make it work. We got a free limo and had to pay 25 each for 2 free drink tickets each. We managed to convince the promoter to also get us a free limo to go to hustlers after so we got a 2 for 1 deal.
Other things to do – we got a Groupon for the Saw Escape room. It was fun but nowhere near as scary as we had hoped. There are lots of other fun Groupons including the famous MGM Top Golf, paint balling and many more. You can also take a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon or take a bus tour for $50-$70. Buy your tours on the strip! It’s much cheaper than Groupon.
We also went to see Cirque Du Soleil Zumanity. It is beyond worth it! I highly highly recommend it. Substitute the strip club with this show lol. It plays as the New York New York. Don’t buy tickets online; you can get a really good deal with the box office people if you know what’s up. I also heard good things about KA, but we ran out of time to go see it.
There are also a lot of concerts so make sure you check out ticketmaster before you go. We made the mistake of waiting till we got there to but our Chris Brown tickets and prices went up by $60 4 days before the concert. It was well worth it though.
Vegas is bustling with things to do. Every hotel is its own unique adventure and they have some of the best pool parties in the world in my opinion. You can go to an assortment of casinos, dining spots, pools, or just walk the strip and shop. Vegas has great nightlife and parties. If you want to have fun and meet fun people Vegas is the place for you.
Went to Vegas for a weekend to celebrate a girlfriends 24th birthday! We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas. During the day we went to downtown Las Vegas and did the zip lining experience which was well worth it! The highlight of the trip was getting a chance to see Migos perform at Drai’s nightclub Las Vegas. And for some of the best steak and Mexican food ever make sure you visit El Dorado Cantina.
Vegas! With only a weekend to explore and no guide I’m sure I didn’t take full advantage of my stay at the Luxor . I will say doing a club crawl is a great way to see the nightlife and meet other groups . Like most crawls it includes Food , drinks, transportation , and skipping lines . Although I enjoyed myself . Finding other African Americans or more urban spots seemed pretty difficult .
I visited Vegas on Memorial Day Weekend 2018 with a group of 6 others and had so much fun! We rented an air bnb near the Rio hotel and casino which was close enough to the strip to walk except if you’re going out with heels then an uber is recommended.
I strongly suggest going to a pool party at one of the clubs. I had so much fun meeting new people and we even had a celebrity performance during the party. My friends and I also found a club crawl on groupon for a third of the cost. It included a bar, exotic club, and 2 night clubs with a party bus transportation. The party bus and Chateau (club in eiffle tower) were the most enjoyable. Oh, they also give you drinks on the bus which was cool.
Outside of the nightlife there is an attraction called Seven Magic Mountains that I would also recommend visiting. Its a pretty cool sculpture site in the desserts of Vegas. The drive is about 20min south of the strip. Overall Vegas definitely showed me a good time. Would definitely go back!
Las Vegas is definitely a place to see. We flew in and stayed in a hotel right off the strip which was great because everything was walking distance. The food choices were great, & shopping at the mall right off the strip. I was even entertained at watching the beautiful water show. I would recommend Las Vegas for a fun girls trip because everywhere you need to go is right off the strip. Oh and let’s not forget they have those tall alcohol drinks you can purchase and walk around with
Las Vegas is my “Go To” concert spot. I always stay at the Aria Hotel. The shopping and the buffet is is awesome. If you really want to be adventurous, try A Romantic Helicopter ride that tours the city. It can be a little pricey but Groupon always come in handy. For Great pictures, You have to go to the Wynn Hotel. For local shopping, try the Miracle Mile Mall. Wear flats when walking the strip and stay hydrated!
Las Vegas is a good time. I went there in a girls vacation and we were able to make a memorable trip. We got an Airbnb and was able to Uber to the main spot. I would say go there during holidays. While walking the strip, we were able to get invited to pool parties and nightclubs (free before certain time) you can even club hop if you want to. Depending on when you’re there, you can see famous DJs perform.
