Traveling While Black
Mooresville, NC: We were exhausted and hungry while traveling thru North Carolina, so we were excited when we saw a sign for a BBQ restaurant. I prepared to exit until I glanced towards the right side of the highway and saw a confederate flag, proudly flying over the small town of Mooresville.
I didn’t need coffee THAT bad. Or food. We opted to remain hungry and continued down the road.
Definitely not a welcoming sight. Mooresville is not listed as a sundown town but I wasn’t risking the safety of my family.
