This is a very narrowly focused review of park city Utah. It’s a home of the Sundance film festival and tons of conferences happen here especially in winter because of the great skiing. I am not a skier, so this ain’t that kind of review. But as a former corporate executive, I really had a great time in Park city. I stayed at Montage Deer Valley and the service, location, and amenities were absolutely superb. Besides, being greeted to the smell of gingerbread and smiles when I walked in this luxury spa resort was everything. I repeat it was everything. The Bellman walked me to my room, brought up my bags and handed me a remote control that literally controlled any and everything you could think of. You could literally stay in bed and turn on the fireplace turn off the TV open and close the curtains, adjust all the lights and create exactly the right mood lighting for whatever your mood might be. The only thing the remote control didn’t do was massage your feet. The room was equipped with a beautiful gas fireplace, gorgeous mock marble top bathroom counters, a picture in picture TV in the mirror so you could watch the news while you get ready in the morning. And just the most lovely valley view of the mountains. The service was impeccable , the food was amazing and I did not want to get a scarf or a suspect look. I felt like a welcome guest and a queen the entire stay. Now if you like me and you don’t really love the ski life, the town is actually really Qwaint and fun. They have everything from upscale restaurants to hole in the wall dive bars. I actually prefer the dive bars they’re just fun easy-going and relaxed. I also spent some time at the firing range. Now I know not everybody likes that kind of thing, but it was fun for me. Although I will say Utah is real loose with their gun laws so you basically have to be prepared to show up show a drivers license and then you can play with essentially any weapon you want. I don’t take that lightly by any stretch and I was totally paranoid because places like Tannersville in the Delaware water gap they stand with you and supervise as you fire in the weapons and they assist in loading and reloading, etc. In Park city, they they hand you the weapon in essentially a shoebox container, drop in all the ammo that you need, and then point you in the direction to go find the range. It’s a very different experience. Nevertheless, I think there’s a little bit of something for everyone in Park city, and even if I never left the spa/hotel , I would have been delighted with the experience. Highly recommend 10 out of 10.
