I travel to Puerto Penasco multiple times a year. I absolutely love the culture, the food, the treatment of the locals. Food is affordable lots of places to eat. Most resorts come with room service, stores, restaurants, swim up bars that serve food, footsteps away from the beach. I also travel here every year in November for a motorcycle rally. I’ve met some great people south of the border. Put it on your to do list.
Rocky point, was a beautiful resort town ! There’s a lot of resorts that are minutes from the main beach’s! All the beaches have different names but they’re mainly all connected ! A lot of tourist so you don’t need to know much of Spanish at all. Being on the beach is fun, they have tons of activities to do there. You can rent ATVS , go snorkeling paddle boat and tons of other activities. They have good alcoholic beverages on the beach as well. The pricing is fairly cheap! Most of them are served out of a pineapple. The locals are on the beach heavy hustling off a lot of souvenirs , which can get very irritating because they will keep coming up to you back to back! It was a moment when I had 3 people in line waiting to ask me did I want to buy things. The town has one main strip where all the clubs and night life is. The night life is 10 mins from the resorts or less so you wont be doing much driving at all! The food & drinks are cheap there as well! If you love Mexican food and fresh caught fish and shrimp then you’ll love this city. Walking on the strip gets annoying as well. The locals see “Americans” and they go crazy. they all beg you to come in their clubs and restaurants. Be careful on the strip as well, they have “pharmacies” where the have weed and all types of pills. I wouldn’t trust it ! Rocky point is fun for children and adults because of the many activities. I’ve heard of crooked cops but I didn’t have any problems, I suggest don’t carry much cash though just in case! Oh yeah one more thing, you DO NOT NEED YOUR PASSPORT. You only need your birth certificate to enter !
