This trip for me wasn’t just a Machu Picchu tour! I specifically chose these dates so that I can hang out with my cousin for a night ! The thing is that, he’s dead. Yeah sounds crazy right?
Dia De Muertos/Difuentos is a day of remembrance celebrated by Latin Americans! They believe that for 24 hours, the spirits of their loved ones return!
So I set out on a journey to find “the best cemetery!” I visited a total of 3 different cemeteries in the Andes(Ollyantambo, Huorancondo, Cusco Cemeter) and discovered a lot of cool places in between! My favorite cemetery happened to be the one in cusco! It was very lively so I purchased flowers, food and booze to prepare an altar for my dearly departed Chris Noxx!
We never got a chance to take a trip together! So I know he’d be excited to get lit in Peru!
In between i got to explore some wonders such as the Maras salt flats, pizac & ollyantambo ruins!
If you’re home bored with the kids tonight, and interested in learning more…I reccomend watching the movie Coco! Without it, I probably wouldn’t even be there !
