Manoa Falls is one of my favorite hikes in the world. It's like walking through Jurassic Park and there's this beautiful little waterfall at the end. Diamond Head is a bit of hard hike with crazy dope views. Waikiki beach is flooded with tourists but it's beautiful. Go to Hanauma Bay and snorkel, you won't regret it! If you want to see more turtles go to the northern side of the island. Have fun!
Go to Ben Thanh market! I went back there three times in my few day in Ho Chi Minh. You can find every souvenir, traditional clothing, spices, misc., full food court, everything. And it's extremely inexpensive. Take a tour of monkey island which includes a tour of a Vietnam war recreation. Very educational. Walk up and down the streets of District 1 and see all of the amazing street vendors.
Chiang Mai is my favorite Thai city. There's one big square that wraps around the main part of the city and there are endless temples. You can just walk up and down the streets and see one after another. The most beautiful is up in the mountains called Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep which you can take a small bus to. Every night there are massive street markets full of food, music, massages and shopping. One night of the week there's one MASSIVE night market.
La Jolla is the most touristy and picturesque but it's also the most expensive. That's where the best ocean views, coves and sea lions are. Hillcrest is the gay area, North Park is the hipster area, the most popular is the Gaslamp (downtown) and Mission/Fashion Valley area the most central.
I lived in Sydney for a year last year. I made it my mission to see everything I could especially in the first few months. There's a LOT to do in a reasonable distance. Of course you have the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge (which you can walk across) in Circular Quay and Bondi Beach. Although the best parts of the city are in the CBD (downtown), surrounding areas and mountains. The Blue Mountains, an hour outside of the city, are breathtaking and for perfect for anyone who likes hiking. Because the city is so culturally diverse there is always a culture based festival with activities, shows and music. The list of scenic places is never ending. There are the Figure 8 pools, Newcastle, Coogie beach, Sydney Tower Eye, Manly, Taranga Zoo, Cronulla Beach, O Bar (which spins 360 degrees to city all of the city), etc. Most people don't know about Featherdale Wildlife Park where you can feed/pet kangaroos and koalas. The food scene is REALLY competitive and it is a little expensive. The Madam Tussauds Wax Museum and art museums are all phenomenal as well. Hope this helps!
