Turks and Caicos was by far my favorite Family Trip. We stayed at the Luxurious 6 bedroom Emerald Villa (Leeward Settlement) which ran $1000/night minus fees. We hired a chef and cleaning service so we didn’t have to do anything but relax and enjoy all that the island had to offer. During our stay we got to partake in the Island Fish Fry which takes place EVERY Thursday and is like an outdoor beach reggae fest with a lot of food and clothing vendors, and a live band from 7p-2am. All you have to do is ask a local on Thursday where the island fish fry because EVERYONE knows about it! I recommend not bringing children to the fish fry because there’s not much for them to do besides eat and after that they will be ready to go (speaking from experience) lol. While I’m Turks we went on a horseback riding excursion with Provo Ponies on the beach and in the ocean which is a must do if you’ve never experienced it. The actual ride was an hour but plan for 2 1/2 hours to find a horse that compliments your riding experience (plenty to choose from). The nightlife was nonstop and we did a lot of bar club hopping to actually tell you where I went because everything is centrally located and pretty much a strip. We always seem to rent a yacht as our family trip signature. It included breakfast, lunch, drinks and snorkeling for 8 hours. I don’t recall the name of the contact we used but it was the marina right up the road from the villa, which you can’t miss. The one thing I will say is the grocery store and gas is HIGH but we had a good time.
I have been to Costa Rica 3 times. Once in jaco beach and the other two in San Jose. During my stay in San Jose I stayed in a local hotel in the city. The hotel included breakfast and ran me $40/night. During my stay in Costa Rica I got to visit the crocodile river, go zip lining, surfing, horseback riding, and on an ATV excursion. Crocodile river and surfing did not cost anything because you pass crocodile river going to or leaving from jaco beach going towards San Jose, and of course all it takes is a board and a beach to go surfing lol. Horseback riding ran $35/person as we were approach by a man walking 2 horses on the beach and when he found out how many of us were interested he came back with a buddy of his and 6 more horses?. The ATV’s was a 3 hour excursion that took us on the beach, up a mountain, through a river, and across a farm land for $55. Costa Rica is definitely one of my favorite places and why I’ve been 3 times.
My trip to Cabo was for a wedding. We stayed in a 4 bedroom villa that slept 11 members of my family comfortably. Very spacious Airbnb in the city of Cabo. We stayed at Casa Finisterra in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. https://www.airbnb.com/luxury/listing/20473214/?checkin=2019-06-29&checkout=2019-07-06&adults=5&children=2&infants=0&guests=7&imageId=0 While there we had the opportunity to swim with the dolphins at a facility which was 5 minutes walking distance from where we stayed which was amazing to be face to face in the water with one of the smartest animals in the world. I also enjoyed a booze cruise that played different Spanish music on all 3 floors of the yacht, they had different contests to keep the patrons entertained and endless drinks. Cabo was very inexpensive and the US currency went a long way
in March I took a trip with a group of my boys (about 13 to be exact). We stayed at Parque Lleras 3 floor 9 bedroom Boutique Penthouse overlooking the city of Medellin, Colombia. The Penthouse ran us about $1k/night for 4 nights which is nothing split 13 ways and to be centrally located in the heart of everything. We hired local chefs that made breakfast every morning and rotated lunch and dinner on certain days depending on what activities we had planned. We had the pleasure of going on the Pablo Escobar tour where we got to see the prison that he built, a few of his homes, and a tomato farm that is owned by a family member. The night life is endless and found ourselves not having enough time to do everything. We always make it a point to ride ATVs, which is our Trip Signature and it was awesome. We rode through farms, rivers, up mountains, and on main roads. We didn’t have any issues with the locals and they were very pleasant and helpful providing suggestions of places to eat and party. I would definitely recommend Medellin, Colombia.
