Taipei was cool, but people smoke cigarettes here like I drink water. It was a bit much and overbearing. I could barley breath in the clubs. Everything is pretty cheap and the people are nice. However, you can tell they don’t see black people often as the stares were obvious. Folks for sure party harder than I’ve ever seen. Even in college I’ve never seen so many people get carried out of the club or throw up in a club in my life, but I guess that’s what happens we you drink boatloads of cheap liquor (couldn’t find anything other than well liquors). Wasn’t a fan of the food so I mostly ate snacks from a family market. Folks weren’t as nice here as they were in the Philippines, but it was cool. Overall cool experience, but not my favorite in the trip.
Singapore was great! We did all the touristy things. We took the cable cars, went to the Observatory Deck at Marina Bay Sands, visited Little India, Chinatown, and Gardens by the Bay. We also visited both malls. We had an amazing time and Singapore is a beautiful and affordable city for tourists because the USD is worth more. However, it is super expensive for the locals who are not Crazy Rich Asians. Definitely will be back to Singapore, I highly recommend it. it has one of the most efficient taxi systems I’ve seen and has the nicest airport ever. The airport even has a butterfly garden which we visited. It’s super clean and fun. However, the food is not great. I was a little hungry in Singapore until I found a Popeyes and it was better than in the US. I stayed away from traditional Asian food as I got sick on the first night.
El Nido was the highlight of our trip to the Philippines. We stayed at the Mansion Buenavista and breakfast was heavenly daily! The best pancake I have ever had, best bacon I’ve had, the butter was so succulent, and the eggs so fresh. I don’t eat mango, but I ate the mangos here. The owner and his staff where beyond phenomenal, showed us around, gave us local tips and tricks, even gave me a ride in his motorbike to town when I was scared the the first night to walk by myself (I’m terrified of dogs, and there a lot of stray ones in the Philippines). However, I now know they are harmless and hungry. The only transport in town is motorbike rentals (500PHP/Daily) or tricycle rides (300PHP from airport or 50PHP to town). We island hopped and did Tours A and B. We had an amazing time on the Private Tours. We snorkeled coral reefs, sunbathed on beautiful beaches, and swam in the small lagoon, kayaked, and snuggled inside caves (there is a small opening to snuggle through in order to see the cave). Our captain, cook, and tour guide were all great both days. The EhhBoy was the perfect boast for me and my sister, we had a blast. We highly recommend a private tour over group tours. The food was good and diverse, and we will definitely be back to do this all again soon! The El Nido paradise team was accommodating after I lost my debit card and allowing me to pay fully via PayPal. After two days of island hopping we decided to rent motorbikes and head to Nacpan beach a 45 minute ride from El Nido. We actually passed it and went 10 minutes out of the way ?, but we were able to see more of the island so it was worth it. While at the beach I got an hour massages for $400PHP, ice cream for $80PHP, and lunch for two for $300PHP. Everything is super cheap and good! We stayed for hours, and I was able to watch the sunset as I drove back into El Nido town! Make sure you’re ready for off tossing because the road to nacpan is not smooth, but I enjoyed the bumps it reminded me of dirt roads during my childhood. All in all this has been the best travel experience yet. The culture, the people, the beauty, and the adventure. You cannot come to the Philippines and not visit El Nido.
Cebu is beautiful and cheap. We stayed at the Raddison Blu Hotel, and it was the nicest one I’ve ever been to. The Raddison Hotels as are not nice in America. I got a steak dinner (ribeye), desert, massage, facial, and a drink for $100. That’s really unheard of. We also did a day tour to Tumalong Falls and to Oslob for Whale Shark Snorkeling, it was absolutely amazing! PLEASE rent a GoPro from the company to commemorate the moment. This might be one of the best tours in the Philippines. We started at 3:30AM (our driver arrived exactly on time and was waiting for us in the lobby of our hotel). The journey from Cebu City to Oslob is about 3-4 hours. We arrived for breakfast in Oslob and went right to swim with Whale Sharks. We waited for roughly an hour, but it was worth every minute and we enjoyed spending tome with our guide. After the whale shark encounter we ventured to Tumalong Falls. Let’s just say our Tour Guide was the absolute best. She was knowledgeable, accommodating, kind, fun, energetic, and a BOMB photographer! She got all of our angles and what I like to call the, “money shots” meaning breathtaking photos. She also went the extra mile to pay for my GoPro camera and extra fried chicken (yes the fried chicken in the Philippines is amazing) at lunch because I lost my debit card. She allowed me to reimburse her via PayPal (now what Tour Guide goes that extra mile). We ended at Kawsan Falls and the tour guide was awesome there too. Very patient, kind, and a great photographer. We had a flight to catch and the driver told us it would take 4hrs.. let’s just say we could’ve stayed a little longer because we returned in 2.5 hours. My friend was scared, but he drives just like me ?! Overall great experience! Please book with Cebu Tours you won’t regret it. Breafast, lunch, both waterfalls, round trip transport, whale sharks, GoPro rental, and snorkeling equipment was roughly just over $100. From the time I initially emailed them months ago until now the service was great! We were in Cebu for a total of 3 days (on our way to and from El Nido). We did a City Tour that was $1500 PHP ($30USD) before our flight. We saw all of the local historical locations and it was pretty cool. Our driver just didn’t speak English as we got a taxi at the airport to show us around, but he understood us and we understood him. He just couldn’t translate historical facts, but we were able to figure it out through a mixture of google, markers, and locals. In all you can definitely ball in a budget in Cebu! The USD goes really far and everything is cheap. Make sure you try Joollibees fried chicken, it’s also great!?
Colombia ?? is hands down the best trip I’ve taken! Bogota is full of rich history and culture, and is extremely cheap! In fact, we were leaving on the day of the Presidential Election last year, and boy was the trip informative because of the corruption in the government. Police officers were walking the streets with AK47’s, and citizens excited for their particular parties. We stayed in a downtown hotel and spit our time between Bogota and Medellin. The only thing that is normal price in computation to USD is the mall because it carries a lot of American Brands. For our dinner on top of the Mountain. I had a full bottle of wine, creme brûlée, a fillet, a la cart sides, and an appetizer and spent $27 American dollars. It was the best steak I’ve had in my life mind you. The grain of the steak when the knife hit the meat was unreal. I may have taken $250 American Dollars at most and gave half of it to our house maid in Medellin because she took such great care of us. I virtually spent no money in Colombia, and bought everything for 5 days. Must TRAVEL!
Colombia ?? is hands down the best trip I’ve taken! We did the Pablo Escobar and the City Tour, and had an amazing experience. Medellin is full of rich history and culture, and is extremely cheap! We purchased an AirBnB with staffed that derived us the entire trip while preparing daily meals, sewing clothes, and much more. I may have taken $250 American Dollars at most and gave half of it to our house maid because she took such great care of us. I virtually spent no money in Colombia, and bought everything for 5 days. Must TRAVEL!
Bermuda is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. However, it also is EXTREMELY expensive. So bring your bag, you will need it! A group of 26 of us went during Hero’s Weekend, and had an absolute ball. Amazing Jerk Chicken and Fish Sandwiches. Don’t forget to try a. Dark & Stormy anD the infamous Rum Swizzle! We stayed in a compound near the Dockyard at Prince Alfred Terrance (opposite of the airport). We had a private dock in our backyard, with amazing views. No taxi we took was under $60 so be prepared. Gas is $9/gallon which is why taxis are so expensive. Everything closes early if there are no cruise ships on the island that day as tourism forces business in Bermuda especially near the dockyard. If you attend during Hero’s Weekend you MUST attend, Raft Up, Juve, and Play Mas. All are expensive so buy your tickets when they are released. Additionally, if you can, ride the ferry it’s only $7 each way or hop on the bus. There are no rideshare on the Island. We did a lot in 6 days from caves, to African tours, parties, private boat rides, and so much more. This is a must visit island full of diversity, but most importantly successful black people. Book your flight and accommodations, but make sure your coins are in order!
