The most surprising thing about Mexico City was how similar it was to a major American city. I didn't have much difficulties navigating from neighborhood to neighborhood. Be advised, it is a huge sprawling city with crazy traffic during rush hour. Uber rides are very cheap and convenient. There are great places to try authentic Mexican food, great museums and cultural experiences within the center of the city. If you are looking into venturing off the beaten path, I suggest visiting the canal of Xiochimilco. On the canals of Xiochimilco you can grab some street food, a 40 oz of beer or tequila, and hire a colorful gondola for a boat ride. It's a very popular past time for locals, you'll will most likely see large groups enjoying themselves on the water. Lastly, if you have the time, be sure to make the drive out to Teotihuacan, an ancient Mesoamerican city about 25 miles outside of the city.

I visited Bali for a friend's wedding. The bulk of my time on the island was pre-planned by the couple. My top experiences were visiting the Tegalalang Rice Terraces, Monkey Forrest, and a day cruise to Nusa Lembongan. People were generally polite and friendly. You may have difficulties using Uber on the island because of a strong Taxi mafia. Bali has luxurious hotels from well known Hotel chains. But if you're looking for a bargain, you will get more bang for your buck by finding well reviewed local hotels.

Marrakech is a great city to visit. It's a bustling old world city with the comforts of home. I highly suggest anyone visiting Marrakech to stay in a riad within the Medina, the old City. It's very walkable with Instagramable spots in every corner. There are numerous beautiful historical sites, and grand pieces of architecture worth visiting. My favorites were Bahia Palace, Musée Yves Saint Laurent, and Dar Si Said. Also, if you have the time, you should definitely venture out to the giant dunes near Merzouga. This is usually a three day round trip, but a sunset over the Sahara desert is well worth it. I booked the tour on www.getyourguide.com. At $130 per person. I thought it was a great deal for waking tours, meals, camel rides, and two-night accommodation. It's not a luxury tour, but well worth it. Be aware of a common scam that I experienced everyday on the city street. Men, and even teenage boys will spark up friendly conversation, usually asking if you are lost. They want to divert you to visit the Tanneries. Here shopkeepers pay them a profit when you buy anything from the nearby shops or cafes. The Tanneries are not interesting at all. Other than that, Moroccan people were very nice and welcoming. In fact, during my tour to the Sahara, I felt more welcomed as a Black traveler than my White counterparts on the tour.
