I went on a girls trip to Cuba. We started in Havana where we stayed at a family house also called casa particular. In my opinion it’s a most. Not only do you feel the Cuban culture, it’s cheap and it’s a great way of getting to know the locals which I prefer when I travel. If you aren’t convinced choosing a host family I will give you another reason?. When you stay at a host family over a hotel then you support the Cuban people, all hotels in Cuba are own by the government. In addition to the fact that living at casa directly helps make life easier for your "host family", the service and quality of these rooms are also often better than at many hotels.
Havana is a city full of culture!
The locals are very friendly and even though none of us spoke a word of Spanish we were still able to get around, enjoy and most importantly we felt welcome.
If you have time I would advice you to visit vinales while you are there. It’s one hour or maybe two hours away. Our host family helped us renting a car and a driver. When you get to vinales there is a tourist information where they show you what to see in vinales. One of the guys working there ended up going with us, as our private tour guide that was very helpful as he was the only person speaking English. I would advise you, if you don’t speak Spanish to do the same. I will make another review of what we did in Vinales otherwise this one will be to long ?.
I would say 2-3 days is enough in Havana - we stayed 2 days.
I went to Venice with my girl. Before visiting Venice I was a bit nervous if it was to much of a romantic city for a girl trip but gladly it wasn’t. Venice is by far one of my favourite cities in Europe. It doesn’t matter if it’s a girl/guy trip, a family trip or a couple trip I’m sure you will fall in love with the city. It’s a city that you should get lost in to discover the most! The only downfall is that the hotels are very pricey compared to other cities.
