I visited Ambergris Caye in February 2023. Had a great time. Rented an airbnb which was huge and had 3 bedrooms, right on the beach. The owner hooked us up with a driver and a chef if need be. Felt safe the entire time and the locals were very friendly. Food was fantastic. Highly recommend the food tour that was only 50 bucks per person which included alcohol. My group left full and tipsy. We also went on a boat cruise. The guys who run that were excellent. I feel like me and my girls got special attention because of the melanin. He told us all about the African history of Belize. The only "cons" I would say is that most of there beaches are blocked by a reef. So there is no walking from the sand into the water. There is secret beach which has that access but it's a 45 minute golf cart ride and so we did not go. We were satisfied swimming in the pool and laying on the sand and enjoying the views. The other thing is that if you are looking to party all night this may not be the place for you. It's definitely bring your own party vibe. Otherwise I had a blast and wil return.
