Akureyri is a small city located in northern Iceland. I took a short flight from Reykjavik and flew over the beautiful landscapes of interior Iceland. I ended up with a personal tour of region, visiting geothermal vents, extinct volcanos and learning more about Icelandic culture. My guides was a high school teacher for his day job and the two of us had great conversations about a lot of different topics. Saw lots of Icelandic horses (very cute) and had Icelandic lamb for lunch which was really good. This area is not as touristy as other parts of the island and I enjoyed going a little off the beaten track. No issues traveling while Black.
