We visited the Harriet Tubman National Historic Park. It’s located in Auburn, Ny (Harriet’s chosen hometown). We had the honor of walking on land she owned, a church she helped build and her final resting place. A very powerful trip! The town is really small but we felt safe and didn’t have any issues.

Beautiful scenic drive around Cayuga Lake. The willow trees at Steward Park in Ithaca is so peaceful.

Food: small diners, Wendy’s, variety of Mexican restaurants. Nothing special!

We are avid campers, so we use an app called Hipcamp to find campsites. Unfortunately the site we booked was not like the listing, so we ended up staying at a super 8 motel near Watkins Glen. Small town, with touristy vibes. Watkins Glen state park is amazing cool visit. So many waterfalls. But it’s crowded, definitely go early.

We love the area. Which is about 3.5hrs from Cleveland , Ohio.

As of 12/12: The Harriet Tubman House tour is temporarily closed until further notice due to flooding. It’s so unfortunate because this was the highlight of our trip! And everyone should attend this tour.
