We stayed in downtown Burlington on a road trip, the town was quaint, pretty, with a lot of charm. People were very friendly to us and our dogs, and outdoorsy. Although we did not see a lot of diversity we were not treated badly or made to feel uncomfortable in any location except for the park in the main square when a white young lady who may have been on an illegal substance asking us for money and indicating the closest ATM when we let her know we didn’t have any cash. It was surprising to us the amount of homeless in that park also, and then we learned there is a growing meth user problem in the northeast. We later took our dogs to a dog park near lake Champlain and again treated with kindness.
