Cullman AL is a large southern town with a majority with and hispanic population. It has a history of being a sundown town but lately it has become more neutral. It is largely conservative and I certainly wouldn’t call it safe, but I don’t fear for my safety here as a local.
Do not get caught here after dark if you do you will never be heard from again. Personal experience.
We stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Cullman,AL and it wasn’t so bad being a sundown town. I must admit I did only see 2 other people of color at our hotel but the staff was very nice and friendly. But I did keep my head on a swivel when it got dark. But over all not any issues. Thank God!
Get gas and use the bathroom before and don’t stop until after. This is a sundown town. And a well known one. It’s not even safe for lgbtq white people. It’s worse if you are Black. Avoid at all cost.
Famous sundown town. Currently, they are trying to rebrand, but multiple races of people will warn you to never stop here.
