My recent 7-day stay at Tropica Island Resort in Fiji was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a refreshing welcome drink, setting the tone for an incredible vacation.
Accommodation: The beachfront bure we stayed in was immaculate, offering stunning ocean views and direct access to the pristine beach. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities we needed. The outdoor shower was a delightful touch, allowing us to enjoy the tropical surroundings even more.
Service: The staff at Tropica went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with any request. Their genuine hospitality made us feel like part of the Tropica family.
Relaxation: For those looking to unwind, the resort’s spa is a must-visit. The massages were heavenly, and the serene environment added to the overall relaxation. Lounging by the infinity pool with a cocktail in hand was the perfect way to spend our afternoons.
Overall, our stay at Tropica Island Resort was a dream come true. The combination of luxurious accommodations, delicious food, exciting activities, and outstanding service made it an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to return to this paradise!
I had no idea that Fijians were black! I stayed at the Taravua resort for 8 days on a work trip. I honestly didn’t really know what to expect as I normally go into these work trips blind. There’s just a thrill going into something not expecting 1 little thing! From the main island you have to take a boat to get to Taravua. It was rainy and windy however, Everyone had such a wonderful attitude and we’re so helpful! Once getting to the island we were greeted by the villagers with songs and a beaded shell necklace! The food is buffet style and there are a few bars overlooking the waves to watch the surfers! There are plenty of activities and a bure where I stayed has beautiful views of the ocean and sunrise and sunset!
If you’re looking for a tropical paradise with plenty of things to see and do, Fiji is the place to be. As someone who has recently visited the island nation, I can confidently say that Fiji has something for everyone, whether you’re an adventure seeker or simply looking for a relaxing getaway.
One of the most unique experiences I had in Fiji was visiting local villages. The Fijian people are incredibly warm and welcoming, and they love to share their culture with visitors. You can participate in a traditional kava ceremony, learn about handicrafts, and even join in on a game of rugby with the locals.
Another must-do activity in Fiji is cave tours. The Sawa-i-Lau caves in the Yasawa Islands are particularly stunning. The caves are accessible only by swimming through an underwater passage, which makes the experience even more exciting. Once inside, you’ll be amazed by the breathtaking sight of crystal clear blue waters and towering rock formations.
If you’re looking for something a little more active, kayaking is a fantastic way to explore the pristine waters around the islands. You can rent a kayak and paddle around the coastlines, taking in the stunning views and observing the rich marine life, including colorful fish, sea turtles, and even dolphins.
Of course, no trip to Fiji would be complete without spending some time on the beaches. With miles of white sand and crystal clear waters, Fiji’s beaches are truly stunning. Whether you’re looking to relax and soak up the sun or try your hand at snorkeling or diving, Fiji’s beaches are the perfect place to do it.
Overall, Fiji is a destination that should be on every traveler’s bucket list. With its friendly people, stunning natural beauty, and endless activities, Fiji is a place you’ll never forget. So if you’re looking for a tropical paradise, pack your bags and head to Fiji – you won’t be disappointed!
As newly plant-based travelers, my wife and I loved the local food in Fiji. Everything from the delicious rice, succulent vegetables and the mouthwatering smells of the fresh seafood was nothing short of amazing. We took a tour down the river where the movie ‘Anaconda’ was filmed. Next, we visited a waterfall and later stopped by a local village where we participated in the local kava ceremony. The tour guides were very accommodating and provided a variety of non meat options for us. I can’t recommend that food in Fiji enough. As you can tell the people there are very stocky and root vegetables are their main source of food and they definitely know how to season it.
When you arrive in Fiji, you’re likely to arrive to Nadi via Nadi International Airport. Nadi is where most tourists go as there are so many adventures to embark on and so much beauty in nature to enjoy. If you only have a handful days in Fiji, I suggest simply staying in Nadi or Denarau island (which is a short 30 min drive by car from the international airport) and enjoying activities such as hiking, relaxing by the beaches, Cloud 9 (a floating bar – also have ITALIAN food – about 45 minute speedboat ride from Denarau port), island hopping excursions, snorkeling etc. if you are traveling in a group you may want to charter a private boat from Denarau and go out into the pacific to different snorkeling and island destinations. I’d also highly suggest taking time to explore the city of Nadi. You can do a half day or full day, visiting different sites such as the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, Fiji Custom Village where you can learn about Fijian traditions and experiencing Fijian lifestyle, and a visit to the Sri Siva temple (so beautiful and makes for a great backdrop on your IG pics ?).
If you have plenty time (more than a week) you can also opt to hop on a plane and visit some of the other destinations in the South Pacific. Sydney, Australia is a short 4 hour flight from Nadi International. You can also visit other islands in Fiji by plane such as Vanau Levu and Savusavu. Flights within Fiji is very cheap. You can find domestic flights as low as $30-$50.
As far as accommodation, if you want more of a luxury experience, you can never go wrong with the Sofitel Fiji. If you’re more of a budget traveler, Fiji is back packer heaven as there are many accommodations for every budget.
You will love Fijians. They are very friendly, eager to help, and always smiling. Everyone is going to greet you with “Bula” or “Nisa Bula” which means hello.
Fiji is a paradise for beach lovers and scuba divers. If you’re looking for a laid back vibe or romantic getaway, this is definitely the place. Many vibrant corals in the marine protected areas make for breathtaking views underwater. I was lucky enough to get scuba certified there in December 2014 at Voli Voli beach resort, Raki Raki. Was incredibly nervous at the time but they took good care of us. The resort was very cozy and family friendly. Spent a few nights at the huge Intercontinental, as you could expect..modern, chic with a larger crowd. The room had a jacuzzi on the balcony! Also spent a few days at the Mango Bay resort, a backpackers spot where you and your friends can all have single beds in their cute bungalows. Finally, spent our last few days in our private house at the Paradise Cove Resort. Talk about luxury…we decided to dish out some extra $ here where the chefs would taxi over in a small boat across the canal from the main resort to our island to cook our breakfast. We were on our own small island with 3 other houses. Spent a total of 3 weeks in Fiji jumping from one spot to another and enjoyed every bit of it.
Fiji is my most cherished experienced. Immediately you feel like you are in romance heaven when you land. The island is breathtakingly beautiful. Spend a week with the one you love and climb Mount Tomanivi to the waterfall that feels like the fountain of youth. After a day of that, make sure you visit the Cloud 9 which is a floating paradise; drink and be merry while looking directly to the bottom of the ocean through the clear blue water!
