In March 2019, I went on a three country Excursion. UK, Amsterdam and Switzerland. My main reason for visiting Switzerland was to ski in the alps. I can’t ski, but love to ski. Weird, I know. I caught a flight from London to Zurich, Switzerland via Swiss airlines. The flight from London was less than two hours and cost about $200.00 bought two weeks in advance. I was in Switzerland for a day before I headed to Amsterdam. I arrived in Zurich about 11 pm . I stayed at the Zurich Marriott which was about 400.00/night ( very expensive for a Marriott). I booked a ski excursion which began at 8 am to Grindelwald , Switzerland which was about 1.5 hours from Zurich by car. The activity cost 500.00 US which included transportation, ski lessons and ski gear which I thought was worth it. The travel company picked us up on time from the hotel. The ride was AMAZING. The scenery looks exactly like those instagram and google pictures lol. I mean green pastures, little small cottages, cows, horses, farms! Upon arrival I was amazed at how beautiful the apls was. The mountains were just breathtaking. I was kind of intimated to ski. I’m thinking to myself “i’m going to kill my little self here” lol. I was greeted by my instructor who then proceeded to give me the rundown of our ski lessons, where we going to ski etc. We ended up skiing in a little area near all the mountains. Rewind…so as I prepared for this trip, I read how cold the ALPS were etc. I purchased a Cordova one piece, under thermals, Moncler coat, boots etc.. Honey, when I say the weather was PERFECT! I mean California perfect :-) I was so damn hot as I began to ski lol. Nevertheless, I had so much! It was a wonderful experience. Grindelwald was soooo beautiful. In other reviews, Switzerland by far had the craziest presentation of food! Unreal… You ask for steak, they are bringing the cow out with blood lol . You ask for fish… please believe a fish will be on your table. Overall, I had an amazing time. If it is a place your thinking about visiting. Please make it there.

Grindelwald is an adrenaline junky paradise and scenic heaven. I went to Grindelwald specifically to go mountain carting which is as dope as it sounds. You take a cable car to the top of a steep mountain and they give you a cart that you sit in and race down! It has no motor or pedals, it’s just the downhill momentum that propels you, but make no mistake you will pick up speed! There are hand brakes on each side and its best you monitor your speed. It is a lot of fun and worth the trip. The company that offers the activity is called Grindelwald-First, and also offers a whole bunch of other activities such as ziplining, trot biking, and a cliff walk.

We also did the cliff walk which isn’t for the faint of heart, it’s a steep metal walkway high up in the mountain that gives you a good view of the famous Eiger, the adjacent mountain that is located across from the one you will walk on. The “north face” of Eiger is the inspiration behind the famous clothing brand.
