Guadalajara Mexico was different. I enjoyed many things about this desert town. The ease of getting around via ride sharing services, the expansive list of things to do, and the many food options available. As a foodie, here are some of my favorite restaurants, Jamaica – Vegan Restaurant that was so good, I would consider becoming a vegan if I lived there, it features a Reggae coffee shop/restaurant and record store. Black Soul Restaurant, most dishes are actually black in color and Campomar – delicious seafood. Honorable mention: Louis Burgers all 10 out of 10. A visit to the town of Tequila is a must when visiting Guadalajara.

Guadalajara is a hidden secret! I spent a couple days there because I love tequila lol they have a tequila express that takes you to tequila town where they produce Agave tequila but cost you $100-$170 per person with limited flexibility. I did everything that the tour offers for less than $30/usd!
Take the bus to Tequila from La Central Vieja (Guadalajara Old Central). The earlier you start your day the better flexibility you have! Also check out Mexican Wrestling (LUCHA LIBRE) a must see! Lucha libre fights are held twice weekly at the Arena Coliseo de Guadalajara. There are fights on Tuesdays at 8:45pm and Sundays at 6:00pm.

Even though this post is about History, I definitely want to d a shout out about the street tacos I had here. AMAZING!!!
So not your typical place in Mexico to go to if you’re coming from the USA but definitely worth a visit if you’re into history and culture. There are museums, upon museums, upon museums. One must visit is Instituto Cultural Cabanas, you can simply spend over an hour just staring at the murals. Another is, Palacio de Gobierno, again amazing murals throughout the space and its old architectural design lends to the historic past of the city.
