I Travel to Lafayette a couple times a years. I went college out there and love it. Since graduating and now Travel there to hangout with friends i must say it has gotten better. There’s a lot more things to do out there now then when I was in school and the food is still A1.
I discovered truly what it meant to be black in white spaces in this town. I would get stares sitting in at restaurants, medical bias was pretty bad as well, and I overall just did not feel very safe. My best friend who also travels to the area for work doesn’t like it either. Plenty move. Go get your food and keep it kicking!
