I must preface my experience by saying, my time here was made much more enjoyable due to the fact the basketball team manager knew the best spots in the city and also was my guide. That being said, if you go to Paris for the culture, visit Lyon for the vibes. Lyon, France was the only city I was willing to go and get my haircut in. Although my barber did not speak English, showing photos and having a translator rendered the most memorable haircut of my life. It was better than I expected. This barbershop was in the top level of a braiding and beauty salon. Knowing very little french, I felt like I was amongst friends with the smiles and attempted communication here. The presence of Arabic food in this city is amazing and at fair prices. I love Arabic food! There is also a Boston style pub in the Cathedral square. If you order a burger from here, the meat is served bloody. Make sure you specify how you want your meat cooked because there are no refunds and they won’t put it back on the grill. The city itself has a canal running through it. One side feels more uptown, while the other side feels more downtown. Saint Jean Cathedral was where I spent most of my free nights. It was here that I discovered what is now, my favorite beer of all time: Anti-Social. Saint Jean Cathedral square had a little something for everyone. The cobblestone paths and patio style bars made me feel like I was in an old city-wide speak-easy. The nightlife itself is remarkable; from clubs, bars, restaurants, or just walking around and people watching, I always found entertainment. Lyon France is a fairly diverse region. The Airbnb I stayed in was a ten-minute drive away from downtown and overlooked some sort of oil or wine field. After traveling around Paris, Lyon is the city I would return to if I ever get the chance. It was much more relaxed than Paris and less populated. I have yet to make it to the south of France, but Lyon seems like the best middle ground between Paris and Canes. I have plenty of photos from my trip. If you are thinking of going, I can share the photos of the Airbnb, Downtown, and more.

Lyon is the third biggest city in France. However, there is no much to do. I could have spent one day finding out the city. There are few traces from Roman Empire, but nothing very impressive. I was spending few days over with a friend who is from there. But one day we drove around 40 minutes from Lyon to Lac Du Vorgey and it was superb! It is a lake, with free admition, crystal clear blue water, where it is possible to spend a day. All amenities must be carried, as they have no infrastructure. On my time over, I saw meanly young people, in their teenagehood but it a peace and quite place where is completely possible to enjoy yourself.
