Recently, my truck broke down in Orrville, OH. Let me start by saying this is a huge Amish community outside of Canton, OH. There aren’t any Ubers or Lyfts in the area. I had the option of riding with the tow truck driver or catching a ride with one of the employees. I rode with the employee who was going the way, I needed to go. Needless to say, I felt helpless not having my own means of transportation but the people were friendly. I stopped at the store, I was the only black person in sight, they were very polite and even asked questions, wanting to know where I came from but I didn’t feel scared at any point. Outnumbered if something had went bad but not scared. You definitely don’t want to get stuck out there at night alone though, you’ll have no where to go.
