Traveling as a Black woman in Rochester, NY, was unsettling. The prevalence of large Trump flags and a significant number of supporters created an intimidating atmosphere. Zero hospitality and overall environment felt unwelcoming and unsafe.
I traveled to the Rochester quite a bit and I typically like staying in the following areas:
Henrietta, Greece, Brighton, Pittsford
There are many restaurants I particularly like to regularly go to for many reasons some being the vibes and food:
Tapas177, Redd, trata, dinosaur bar b que, delmonico’s italian steakhouse.
Rochester is a beautiful city with lots of festivals and delicious food. There are picturesque lakes in driving distance and Niagara Falls is just a short drive. There is lots of African American history and museums for adults and kids. It’s a place to bring the family or visit as a couple. Everyone can find something to enjoy!
