My husband and I were leaving Connecticut after attending our son’s graduation and stopped here. Upon entering the door, a gentleman at the counter looks at me and immediately says something about shoplifters. I walk over to a case and he continues talking to the ladies behind the counter about what they do to shoplifters.
I walk over to the counter and ask them if they beat shoplifters, what do they do for business owners. He said they beat them too! I left the store immediately. I went outside and told my husband what happened. He said that if I wanted to shop there, he would go back inside with me.
I never return to places where I obviously am not wanted. We went back inside and looked at some items. One of the two ladies did a “pop-up” on an aisle, just to see if you are stealing. I asked her to open several showcases and selected my items and paid for them in cash. We left.
The crazy thing is that I spent several days prior to this trip shopping all over Richmond, VA, and never once received this type of unwelcome reception or comments.
