Rome is definitely one of my favourite European destinations. Lots of history, architecture and monuments. If you like waking you can walk to most of the popular monuments. Transport is very easy to use also. I would recommend staying around Trevi fountain as it is easy to get to all of the most popular attractions from there. I have been to other places in Italy and have experienced a bit of racism but Rome was different. I had no issues travelling as a black woman in Rome. People were very nice and friendly. The food was great and the weather was lovely in August( If you like the heat!). Gelato is Italian ice cream and taste amazing!!! Be sure to try it if you haven’t already. A 4 night stay in Rome is perfect if you do not want to feel rushed. It will give you time to take it all in. I stayed for 3 nights and definitely felt that 1 extra night was needed. Overall beautiful city!! I stayed at Relais Roma Centro. A small boutique style accommodation but perfect location. Literally walking distance from Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. I paid £275 for 3 nights and that was for 2 people. I visited the Colosseum which was amazing! I purchased entry tickets on the day I visited and paid about 12 euros per person. Also visited Trevi fountain at day and night. The Pantheon, The Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel (purchased ticket on the day). Rome is lovely for a romantic couples trip, girls trip or even a Solo trip. It is very easy to get around and public transport is very straightforward.
I visited Santorini for my 30th Birthday. I wanted to go somewhere to chill, eat good food, drink champagne and relax. And that is exactly what this place had to offer. Santorini is very chilled. I visited at the end of October so prices a very reasonable as it is the end of the busy season. October was a great time to visit as it was not busy with lots of tourist. I stayed at UniqueSuites which was lovely. Each room has its own private jacuzzi and balcony view. The staff here are amazing and very accommodating. Breakfast was good too. Good value for money as the cost was £690, 4 nights stay for 2 people and that included breakfast. I visited Oia which is a beautiful area. Very picturesque with lots of photo opportunities. This area gets very busy during sunset hours so be sure to get there before then if you want to eat whilst watching the sun set. Santo Winery is a must! We enjoyed a lovely meal and wine tasting experience here. A very nice place to see the beautiful sunset. Food is nice too. Not a place to go if looking for lots of activities. Santorini is relaxed and slow paced. Transport to get around was the best. We hired a quad bike to get around locally.
Bali is amazing!! Such a beautiful country to visit. The people are very polite and accommodating. Bali is one of the most picturesque places I have visited. I visited Bali for 12 days in May with my best friend. The weather was good, it only rained once and that was early hours of the morning. The food was great with lots of variety. Local food is good too. First we stayed at Anumana hotel in Ubud. While here we did all of the usual activities like (Bali Swing, Monkey Forest, Elephant Sanctuary ect). We then went to spend 2 nights in a beautiful bamboo house in Selat which was just magical. We enjoyed some nice local food here. Then we went to a beautiful private villa (Aksari) in Seminyak where we were able to unwind and chill. Each room has its own pool and jacuzzi. It’s definitely a must to visit both Ubud and Seminyak when visiting Bali. Both places offer a different feel of Bali. Seminyak has lots of cool places to eat and shop. Definitely the place to purchase any gifts or souvenirs. We then spent a few nights in Ayana hotel and Spa in Jimbaran. That hotel is amazing and was a brilliant way to finish the trip. Overall I would definitely recommend Bali to anyone. I was previously told that it was a honeymooners destination however I can now say after my experience that you can make a trip to Bali anything you want it to be (Girls Trip, Baecation, Family, Friends, Relaxation, Adventure, Romantic, Fun ect).
