Paris has a million fans but I can say I believe it's for a reason. It's a beautiful city and the vibe is chic and just over all cool. For a history lover, I would definitely recommend getting the city pass that gives you access to multiple museums and venues around the city. In addition to the Louvre, I would recommend checking out the Musse D' Orsey which had an amazing collection of Van Gough paintings. There's also a bunch of cafes nearby where I would recommend popping in for a crepe and some coffee. You'll need your energy!

This is probably the scenic place I've been. From the people who are friendly and welcoming to the Fado music that seems to set a mood, you'll definitely be able to kick back and enjoy. There's so many neighborhoods and river front views that I can't begin to express my appreciation for. My husband and I really enjoyed taking a river cruise along the Tagus river at sunset that was unforgettable. The guide gave us and a small group plenty of history and pointed out a lot of landmarks along the way. Make sure to try the vino verde wine and the fresh seafood that you can find anywhere. I never had a bad drink or bad meal the whole time I was there. Take the time to check out the churches and museums or even the hop on hop off tour if you want to get a feel for the city before committing a day to a specific activity. Trips to Porto Sintra and Cascais are definitely worth the short commutes as well.

I would definitely check out Panama Viejo. The old area goes back to the conquistadors and slavery which is interesting if you're into history. You're able to roam around to explore what I would consider modern ruins and the top of the tower that still stands gives an amazing view of the "modern" Panama skyscrapers. The mix of old and new shows what's great about the city.

The city is old and beautiful with a mix of things to do that leaves something for everyone. I went with my husband and we did everything from sampling local seafood and ceviche to taking a speedboat to the white sand beaches in Baru. You can easily find day tours and excursions or just hang around the walled city wandering in and out of shops and talking with the Palenque ladies you see selling fruit and juices. The views especially at sunset are great from the top of the wall and you can see locals as well as tourists taking the time to appreciate it. By night, you should definitely check out the clubs and scene that emerges. Even my husband who's too cool and never dances couldn't contain himself at Café Havana and the live music that you can hear from the streets. Definitely one of the most fun places I've been.
