A Little About Me:
NYer. Funbassador. Adventurer. Connector. Event & experience producer. Traveler. Eater. Word nerd. Dare Master.
I'm curious and always down for an adventure.
My first impression of Rio is that this trip was going to be more of a cultural experience than a relaxing vacation (which is cool just a heads up). Navigating the city reminded me of NYC in some ways. There is a looot of energy in this city which is amazing to take in and can be a lot in moments. One of my favorite moments was finally making it to the beach and having beer and snacks at one of the many beach bars. I feel like my trip was simply walking from one place to eat to another. I LOVED trying traditional dishes that were so rich in flavor and culture - pao de queijo, feijoada, caipirinhas, etc. I can definitely say that my trip was FULLfilling in many ways.
THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO! And there is something for everyone. Yes there are the things that most people want to do when they visit like see Times Square, Central Park, etc. but what I love is discovering all the secret and less well known things this city has to offer, like the speakeasies, the local food spots, the food festivals, etc. There is ALWAYS an overwhelming variety of options to explore.
What I loved most about my time in Cuba was how cozy it felt. Our airbnb was a nice home for the week, and our host was so helpful with transportation when we first arrived. One of my favorite details was our daily breakfast with our little senorita who sent us off into our day well fed and with smiles on our faces. The Cuban people are very accommodating (and enterprising). I love using Airbnb as an opportunity to support individuals.
In Tobago, you MUST have curry crab and dumplings on the beach. It's at the top of my list whenever I go, My first time having it I enjoyed it so much, I licked the spicy juices that ran down to my elbow.
