Historic Walking Tour in Cartagena, Colombia. I recently took a solo trip to Cartagena in March. I booked all my tours through Airbnb Experiences and had the most amazing day on this tour. We began in the Walled City, a UNESCO Heritage site. My guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. We explored the walled city, met and took photos with local artists ans vendors. I met a group of Palenqueras, who were very welcoming, and as a woman of color it was wonderful to learn about the Palenqueras, who are descendants of slaves who fought free of the Spaniards and established the first free Black community in the Americas. I would definitely recommend taking a historic tour at the start of any trip as it really sets the tone for any new destination.
