I took a last minute 5 day solo trip to Cartagena and it was amazing!!. Cartagena is super cheap and super affordable. I decided to stay in a Airbnb/ hostel in getsemani (the tourist area) for $70 for 5 nights total! Cartagena is full of history. While out there, not only did I explore the beautiful city full of vibrant colorful houses and art work , I was able to visit palenque and boca chica (this made my day). During my visit to palenque I went to a school and watch the students danced and rapped and truly enjoyed what they were doing. I also ate fish and coconut rice at one of the palenque women house (it was soooooo good). Night life was great. I did a party bus one night with a few other black group travelers and solo travelers I met while on the trip. I felt completely comfortable & safe traveling solo while out in Colombia & would definitely go back! I had an good experience at Israel. The best part of my trip was my tours to Nazareth, Jerusalem, Jericho, Palestine & the Jordan River. It is full of history and amazing to visualize everything from the Bible in person. I didn’t really go for the night life but from what I heard Tel aviv is the place to be for the night life! Compared to other parts of Israel Tel aviv is much more liberal. The beach is phenomenal, it is easy to get around by taxi as they do not have Uber’s out there. My most favorite part of the trip was visiting the Dead Sea. It is essential to go to the Dead Sea while out there! Keep in mind the sand is really hot and the water is really salty! Take your shoes off right before going in the water & avoid getting your eyes and mouth in the water. The mud in the dead sea is so rich and full of minerals which actually keeps your skin very soft. As far as Hotels in Israel, they are super expensive so your best bet is to stay in an Airbnb. Luckily, I was in a Airbnb closer to the beach and close to the meeting points of my tours. Favorite dish- Falafel and Hummus, it is sooooooooo good! I decided to take a trip to Tulum solo. Tulum has been on bucket list for a while and I figured why not go. I arrived on October 4th to Cancun. There is many ways you can get to Tulum (private bus, taxi, rent a car or by the ADO). The ADO is the cheapest way to get there. It takes about two hours total which a stop at playa de Carmen. I chose to rent a car for $90 from October 4-October 7th & I don’t regret it one bit! It was a straight peaceful car ride from Cancun to Tulum. My trip was totally inexpensive. I stayed in a Airbnb in town (you can stay in town -cheaper- or at the beach road which can be pretty expensive. The town was 15 minutes away from the beach road. My Airbnb total stay was $300 in town called Hora Feliz. I was able to see all the picture worthy sites along beach road. Traveling while black was fine, most of the people were amazed by my skin complexion, they took. Pictures of me and kept calling me beautiful , to my surprise there were a lot of solo travelers who actually relocated there permanently. Night life was amazing as your bound to meet another solo traveler while out along beach road. Definitely will go back again! Airbnb stay: https://abnb.me/lI8HuKc5H0
