Seriously fell in love with Bogota! I travelled across Colombia to Medellin, Cartagena, and Bogota... they are all amazing for very different reasons but Bogota was the most non-touristy which is probably why I liked it the most. So much history written in the walls of bogota and it was truly incredible. I traveled in Bogota for 3 days and that was the perfect amount of time to see the city in my opinion. The views in Bogota were absolutely amazing... I can’t stress it enough! Worth the trip 110%
Cartagena is so beautiful! I stayed for about 4 days and I would say that’s the perfect amount of time! My favorite thing to do was spend the day at one of the islands you have to take a water taxi too... the waters were unbelievably clear and blue, simply breathtaking. I debated going to another island while in Cartagena but I am so happy that I did because it was the highlight of my trip. Cartagena is also very cool because there is a lot of history around Afro-Colombians.
I decided to go to Phi Phi randomly while I was staying in Bangkok and met some people going and it was such an amazing choice! It is absolutely beautiful with some of the bluest waters I’ve ever seen and so much color everywhere. You take a ferry from another island which was amazing in itself! All of the main hotels are all in walking distance from each other on this main road which was very nice especially at night when you may have been drinking a little. And on that note the nightlife was so fun! It was definitely a younger, wilder crowd so if you’re into that, this place is perfect for you! They offer party boats which was probably my favorite thing to do because I got to see famous islands, jump off the boat, go snorkeling, and play with monkeys all while meeting people from all over the world. I definitely don’t think you need more than 2 or 3 nights here.
