Paris is gorgeous! There is so much to do and so much history jam packed into this city. I spent 4 days in Paris. I was mid August and the weather was a bit chilly. I was quite upset that I didn't check the forecast before i traveled. I would have packed differently. We only scheduled one tour, which was on bicycles. The tour took us around the city and we were able to knock a good portion of things off of our list. I would note there were times the route the guide took us was a bit "dangerous". It was as if we were weaving through traffic like we were in an action movie--fun nonetheless. The rest of our days we spent exploring and getting lost in the city. Those are usually the best times. There were only two things that altered my otherwise joyous trip. One was the food. Everything was so bland. The french love a cold cut sandwich. My gosh. I don't think I had one satisfying meal while I was there. I ultimately left feeling underwhelmed in that department. My second bad experience was with the people. Definitely no warm and fuzzy over there. Every seemed to have an attitude and were reluctant to help. Just rude. Overall, my experience in Paris was great, and I would recommend everyone visit at least once.
What can I say about Jamaica? I love it. I have visited several times, and each time is better than the last. I usually stay in Runaway Bay because it is not as congested and it is close to family. Everyone in this country is so friendly. I have done just about everything. I would highly recommend Dunns River Falls out of everything I have done. It is a neat/fun experience. Whenever I visit my family, we would just walk around picking fruit off the trees and walking around from house to house chatting with everyone. I absolutely loved it. American dollars go a long way in this country if you get off the resorts. You could even get a cheaper deal purchasing excursions outside of the resorts. Jamaica, in general, is a great destination for first time travelers. I think you would get your money's worth and more
I was in Honduras for two days. I didn't get a real tour of the city because I had booked excursions for both days. The only history lesson I got was from our cab ride to our excursions. I did a dolphin swim with my family, and we got a lot of cute pictures. Everyone was nice and welcoming. It wasn't any different from the cliche dolphin excursion you see though.
Nonetheless, we had a good time. The second time we went to a private island and were beach bums for hourssssss. It was gorgeous, the water was clear, and it was relaxing. I wish i could remember the island name :( .
It is very obvious this city is quite poor. We didn't have specific plans when we got there, but it was very easy for us to get around and find something to do. We ended up chatting with a group of taxi drivers and he took us around town and gave us a history lesson of the country for a great price. We really just went with the flow of the day. Those types of trips are the best. There are a lot of black people in this country. I did not feel out of place in the sense of the color of my skin. Everyone appeared to be welcoming. I was only there for a day, and I honestly felt like we did all that we could in that city. I couldn't imagine being there for more than a day or so.
Antigua is my home country and it is absolutely gorgeous! It is definitely a rare gem that most don't know about. The beaches, the food, the people. Everything about this small island is everything I need in more for a relaxing vacation. My family is from all over the island with an emphasis on English Harbor. Antigua is one of the Caribbeans wealthiest countries, so be mindful of costs. It is a little more expensive than the normal go-to vacation islands like Jamaica.
Havana is an experience that I think everyone should witness. It is like you are dropped in a different century--everything frozen in time. We stayed in an airbnb in Old Havana and it was very charming. Everyone was very friendly and it was easy to get around. None of us spoke Spanish, but the google translate app helped us tremendously. Our Airbnb host cooked us breakfast every morning for a fee of around $8. I personally felt that was too much for a couple eggs, toast, and fruit. Another thing I would note is the quality and sanitation of the food may be poor. I got really sick while I was there. While the food was delicious, my stomach did not agree. My stomach problems followed me for at least a week AFTER I returned from Cuba.
Bangkok is one of a kind. I was there during the new year and wow. We stayed in an Airbnb near Central Plaza. We felt like we were close to everything. There is so much to do, SO many people, and so much to see. You could really do a whole trip there. You have access to everything and getting around is fairly easy. My only gripe is how the taxi drivers do all they can to get over on you. A lot of them refused to use the meter and when we would ask, they would tell us to get out the car....CRAZY! There were even times when it took us over an hour to get a taxi to stop for us. We bought tickets to a new year party and we missed it because it took us so long to get a cab. Our driver eventually told us to get out and walk if we wanted to at least not be in the car during the countdown. The food in thailand is AMAZING. If you have a diverse pallet, you will love it here. However, if spice is not your thing, you have to be careful.
I had an amazing time in Bali. To date, it was my best trip yet. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We literally did not have a terrible interaction. Even the taxi drivers were nice. You just have to make sure they use the meter when they take you places. I traveled at the end of June and the weather was perfect. I don't believe it got above 82 degrees. There were times that I even felt a bit chilly in the evening. Bali exceeded my expectations and I would definitely visit again.
