Cape Town knows how to party. From beautiful mountains to penguin beaches it’s not hard to see why it’s on every travelers list. The ticket prices can prove to be a bit costly, especially during the holidays, but I promise it’s well worth it. Plus, everything is very affordable once you arrive, so what you spend on your ticket you make back throughout your stay. This city is full of flavor and history, so I suggest getting a taste of both! There are a ton of great museums around the area that are a must see (District Six museum- one of my favorites) and when you’re finally ready to wine down after a few long days I suggest visiting vineyards in the surrounding area to get a taste of some of the best wine and most beautiful views. My favorite wine experience was the Franschhoek Wine Tram. My advice is to take the Green Line for 1100.00 Rand. This was my personal favorite wine tram experience and I'm certain you won't regret it.
Iceland is truly amazing! If you’re an outdoor lover this is the perfect destination for you. I pretty much spent my entire trip on the road capturing beautiful moments along the way. I found tickets to be pretty cheap for an international flight (around $400) depending on the time of the year, making this another reason to visit this great spot. I suggest checking out WOW Air for great deals on flights. Food can be pretty costly and seeing as most of your time will be spent chasing waterfalls I suggest stocking up on food at the local grocery stores. My biggest piece of advice is to catch an early flight and visit the Blue Lagoon straight from the airport. The lagoon can get crowed fairly quick, so in order to capture those epic photos get there when they open!
I visited the lovely city of Cartagena in May and immediately fell in love. The city’s vibrant colors, delicious food and energized spirit are well worth the trip. I spent about 4 days in Cartagena and felt like it was just the right amount of time- making it the perfect getaway for a quick trip. The food was beyond amazing and extremely affordable. My favorite restaurant would have to be Restaurante Interno. Hands down some of the best tasting food I have ever had. The night life can get a little crazy, but everyone is out for a good time and you meet a ton of great people along the way. I suggest visiting Alquimico Bar for some great vibes. Definitely on my list of places to go back and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable getaway.
