    Traveling While Black
    Edit

I arrived in South Africa after a 10hour flight from Germany. The good news is it was a red eye with only a 1 hour time change. I met a flight attendant from my previous Morocco flight. He was so cool! Heyyyy! My friend Sheri met me for our adventure to begin! So good seeing people after time apart. We ubered to connect with Eric at his fancy house with a pool! I need to get an assignment somewhere like here. Smh. When in Africa get with it, I headed to a braid shop to get my hair braided. It took 2 women 2 hours and 15 mins to get me right. I looked up at some point and had 3-4 people finishing up my braids. They did a great job and for about 55 US dollars! Yessss! ‍♀️‍♀️ Once we finished we went to house so I could get settled in and change. Next we headed to a little restaurant around the corner for okra stew with goat! And for anyone who really knows me knows I love okra! This was right up my country alley. There was a bread like substance included as well inside. See pics. Not sure if I’m a fan but I can see the need to eat it for fullness. Later that evening we headed to a hookah lounge called Byblos! Shoutout to the locals for showing so much love. We had a ball. Dancing to American music and African beats. The weather was perfect for this outside venue. We partied and danced like we were young. Feeling old the next day! Hahahha Saturday Sheri’s husband derrick came home from travel. So I visited with him for a bit and he made me and the girls breakfast. So sweet. Then Sheri and I headed out for adult adventures. We drove to this large mall/casino complex. Being a kid at heart I immediately went into an arcade and played some games. We had a good time. We then went into the casino where we played about 20 bucks worth and lost. Oh well. Fun while it lasted. We choose a wing spot for lunch that was pretty good. I learned quickly that the power regularly goes out in South Africa. The locals including Sheri were so unbothered. After spending some time with the family we headed to a lounge called signatures. At first we thought this is too fancy with their live band and such but turned out to be a really cool place. We met some British guys who were foolish and a local South African chick who lived in America for quite some time but she’s back home now. We enjoyed our time here. Next stop Byblos again! Hahahah and it was like we were super stars! The locals who looked out for us the night before came running. One security guy really loves Sheri and of course she tells him she’s married and he’s like whatever me too! Hahhha foolery at its best. I love the locals in Africa really dance. Men and women alike. We danced and partied as usual and then headed home before the trouble came out. Sunday we planned to bbq and hang out with the family. But first Sheri and I headed to the markets. You can buy any and everything here. I looked for some headwraps, spices, clothing and little trinkets to bring home. And I found them all. The locals were a bit aggressive but I shut that down immediately so we could browse in peace. We found everything we were looking for and more. Then there is another market in the parking area. Awesome as well. We headed to the food court area for this Malaysian fried fish! Drooooll! It was sooo good! And spicy! Yesss! We headed back to the house to chill and relax with the fam. I sat in the hammock to get some sun on me. Derrick showed out as always and the food was bomb. Monday Derrick had to take the day off to kick it with us. lol! I think he felt he was missing out on some of the fun. We went to the pet store so he could get more fish and fancy up his tank. He had recently lost several fish so he wanted to get it back going again. They had a huge python and some spiders that apparently people collect! Crazy! My skin is crawling as I write this. We then went into the urban areas of joburg for lunch. The restaurant is called Rosa Hut. Once again we had this fried fish! Life! So delicious. We also had fried okra! Yes lord! So good. I wanted to pass out as soon as we left and we did. Lol! Just napping in the car. It was perfect. Sheri and I went to the mall to get manis and pedis. I got to get my pic in Mandela square but man once again the locals all trying to be up in the pic with ya girl. See my face. Mess! On Tuesday we got up early to go take the big bus tour. I often recommend these as a quick way to see a city when running short on time. Purchase the tickets online for a discount. We also added Soweto to the tour. It made me want to go back and watch Sarafina again. Also Trevor Noah is from that area. I had no idea. The tour was great. Lots of history and good sites. But the Soweto portion was by far my favorite. We actually got off our tour and stayed an hour or so just to see the Mandela house, do some shopping and peek at Tutus residence which is still occupied by his family today. Amazing. And very humbling. We had lunch in the college part of town. Very good meal and drinks. We headed back to meet Emilee on her way home from school. Derrick took Sheri and I to dinner at this place called Chriscos. We had this amazing seafood platter and roasted chicken dish! So good! Wednesday! The most amazing day ever. We got up early and headed out for a safari! We tried to feed a giraffe first but she was not around for feeding. The gentlemen working the cub area offered to take us to see them the ‘African Way’. Which basically meant taking us in the back gate. I love my people! Hahahaha. We entered and immediately got to pet the baby cubs. They were so cute. One definitely jumped on Sheri and bit at her shirt! Lol. We couldn’t make this up if we tried. We did the self drive option thru the reserve so that we could go at our own pace. It was wonderful. We had lunch and relaxed in one of their restaurants. Good as well. The chicken wings were legit! We headed back to the house to relax a bit before I had to head out. South Africa was amazing and I will be going back very soon. My direct flight cost me 700 USD. As for cash I think I had about 200 usd worth of Rand and I didn’t have to go to the atm again until the end of my trip. Very affordable place. Even if I had to stay at a hotel the cost was not ridiculous either. Life and love things. I don’t always post about this part but I feel it’s important to share. Amazing what the universe will bring you when you aren’t looking. If you’re sending out positive vibes they will come back to you. And positive people. I’m very blessed and this trip served as a good reminder. I’m grateful and my life is amazing. Wishing you all the peace, love and happiness. Create a little magic every day ☺️ Happy to answer any questions about the trip.

5 ladies and I arrived for a long weekend in this awesome little city. We stayed at the Hilton budapest (downtown on the buda side). There is also a really nice one in the pest side as well but it is further from the happenings in the city. The hotel was very nice and Mr. Hilton out did himself again. We had champagne and snacks in all three suites. Such a sweet gesture!! #status We were just in time this evening to change and head out for cocktails and dinner. The cocktail restaurant of choice was the High Note Bar above the Aria hotel. Lovely cocktails and affordable prices (10usd per drink). We snacked on the charcuterie board and nachos. Surprisingly the nachos were very good. We initially tried to split the bill and met some resistance. After I posted this information to trip advisor the management staff assured me there would be no issues in the future. Be prepared with small bills just in case. The restaurant of choice was Meatology! The burgers were really good and seasoned well. They have a mix of sweet potato and regular fries that come with the meal. The service was very good as well. I recommend reservations as it’s hard to get in on certain nights. Online booking is easy or via email. Adam was our waiter and he was very personable and helpful with the menu. We indulged in a bit of dessert as well. It was nice. We did experience a slight issue but Adam fixed it immediately and ensured the meal was corrected and we only paid half price for it. The burger meals were under 12 usd FYI. He also offered us a grappa. Very typical and European thing to do and it was strong! Hair on your chest! Hahahah. We loved the visit and would definitely eat here again. Careful of the locations as they can be easily confused. The one we went to was close to the mercure hotel and bigger than the other (or so it appeared from outside). Enjoyable visit here! Saturday morning we had a nice breakfast at the hotel. A normal buffet with a waffle station and lots of fresh pressed juice. Lovely. We then headed out on a tour of the city. I was terrified to ride a Segway but once I got used to it, it’s great fun. A wonderful way to see the city and enjoy a guided tour. We were able to cover lots of ground in two hours including photo ops! Be sure to have a backpack or small bag so that it fits inside the Segway carrying area. Also wear gloves and cold weather gear if it’s chilly! Once that wind hits you it cold and you need your hands at all times. Hunor (our guide) was awesome. He has lots of knowledge of the city and all the locations you visit and he’s a pretty good photographer also. He was also very patient with us first timers and allowed us to practice and get comfortable with the equipment. We really enjoyed our tour day with him. I thought for the time spent and guide the cost was more than appropriate. Less than 70 usd. I will riding again in the future. So fun! We then took the local tram to the central market for lunch!! We had no idea that we were in for such a treat. The central market is cool. Definitely visit here while in Budapest. There are lots of local shopping stalls on one side and food stalls on the other. You have to get your food and then find a standing table to eat. It was tough because we had six people but we made it work. I choose the stuffed chicken with a side of potatoes. Of course the portions are a lot. Other food items we had: sausage (which reminded me of chorizo), potatoes and sausage mixed together, and goulash. All very affordable. We then did a bit of shopping for goodies to bring home. Afterwards we headed to the hotel to relax and get ready for cocktails and dinner. Tonight we choose Good Spirit and Bestia. Levi was our waiter at Good Spirit and was fantastic. Our bartender was lovely as well (I don’t recall his name but he was handsome with dark hair.) The cocktails were amazing as always. I had two whiskey based drinks one sweet and one savory. And when I say savory I mean it was bacon in a glass! Yessss!! Crazy and fun. You can’t drink multiple but one was fun. We also had some small snacks to hold us over until dinner. Everything was freshly made and worth the price. Think 8-12 usd for a drink. Typical and appropriate for the environment. I love to visit here and it will remain a staple for my trips to Budapest! Bestia is known to be one of the best restaurants for goulash in the city. Tameka had a small bowl and enjoyed it. The portion sizes in this place were crazy. I had a pastrami sandwich as big as my face. The other ladies had chicken wings, salmon, steak and a pork dish that was out of this world. This place is very close to the Aria so if you can get to them in the same night it’s easiest. This was probably our most expensive bill during our whole stay but well worth it. I think we spent 150 bucks for 6 people. Not bad at all. We also hit a ruin bar this night! We were feeling adventurous. This place was young and trendy for sure, a cool experience. Naturally we are older so we didn’t stay out late but we enjoyed it here. We had a cocktail, danced a bit and lots of good people watching. How do I describe a ruin bar?! Kind of like a big warehouse/cave with various rooms and different music in each room. Make sure to venture around to find the space that fits for you. Sunday morning we prepared to head back to Germany. We did stop for a lovely brunch at A la Maison. The menu was extensive. Everything from traditional French, British and American breakfast combinations. Also lots of sweet things like French toast, pastries and the like. A very enjoyable visit and costs maybe about 15-20 usd per person. We then headed on to the airport destined for home. Overall Budapest is a very walkable city and generally safe. So don’t be intimidated to stroll between locations. There is no Uber service in this city so be prepared with small bills to utilize taxis if you need them. They are plentiful

    Adventure
    Edit

Trip dates: 16-18 Feb 2019: We did a quick trip to Morocco for the long weekend in feb! Love getting american holidays while living in Europe. Headed to the airport Saturday morning and we parked. Frankfurt has great deals for airport parking if booked in advance. We used the lounge on the land side of the airport. #mimosas Shout out to Mr. Chase reserve for the priority pass access. It’s a great benefit and I think it’s best overseas as the lounges are better. We flew lufthansa. Love that on a short haul flight they provide decent food. Pasta with sauce one way and then chicken with sauce on the return. My buddy Ama works for lufthansa and they hooked us up with champagne during the flight. So awesome. 6 travelers including me for this adventure. Once we arrived Marrakech we met our driver from the Riad. Book transport from the hotels! It’s worth the cost!!!! He quickly drove us to the location – about 20mins away from the airport. We had to walk about 5 mins from the drop off location as there is no easy route for an vehicle. We were met by a luggage attendant who walked us to the Riad. Pay attention to landmarks and they don’t use street names at all. Now I had never stayed at a Riad before and it more than exceeded my expectations. From the way it looks outside it’s hard to imagine how gorgeous the inside is. It’s amazing. With beautiful wildlife gardens inside and amazing colors. Fantastic. The staff was amazing. They take care of the luggage for you while you wash your hands in orange blossom water. Then you sit for Moroccan tea and pastries. While relaxing a nice person comes to offer you a soap of your choice for use in your room. The bars smell lovely and are handmade with no chemicals. Once we were shown to our room we were more than impressed. We had a family suite and it was perfect for our group. There was one large room with a queen bed full shower and bathroom. The other bedroom (mine) smaller but nice with a twin bed and a bathroom with shower. Perfect actually. We had two terraces overlooking the inside of the hotel. And our favorite part was our private terrace with our private jacuzzi! Not very big but awesome for the chilly nights. We could overlook the city as it was rooftop. And the price was crazy good! I can’t believe how affordable this place was, something like 700 euros for the two nights. Now we split this by three which made it a great deal. We didn’t have any meals at the Riad but the ones we saw looked very good. Great place to stay in Marrakech! We visited the Yves Saint Laurent gardens. What a beautiful experience! There is a cool little museum on the grounds and the house. Lots of fruit trees throughout and a memorial to him. Check these fun pics. I also met the sweetest little French girl. She was chatting with me and I had no idea what she was saying or vice versa. But I could tell she wanted my jellies! Hahahah. We had a lunch at a little cafe just outside the gardens. They run specials so go there. The chicken tangine was very good and large portions. We then hit some shops for typical Moroccan treasures. Next we headed down to the souks. Omg! Everyone wants you to buy everything from them! So be ready with your serious face to say no. But you can find some nice things and bargain for a great deal. For dinner we hit two lovely restaurants. The first very traditional and the second more upscale and hipster. The food was phenomenal at both. I would totally recommend them both. The first one is in a little shady part of town but worth it. (Dar Yacout) hahahah. The second one they have entertainment! Belly dancers and ladies with candelabras on this heads! And who do they come find to dance with?? That’s right ME!!! It was crazy but we had a good time. (Restaurant Comptoir Darna) Myself and the boys chose to have a hammas spa treat. It’s like a fancy bath basically but so good!! Different wraps, masks and skin treatment finished with Argan oil. Famous in this region. Hard to tell when you are getting the good stuff so I purchased mine at the spa. Our last day we explored additional shops in the city and a last minute carpet purchase within the souk to finish out our trip. We had a great time. A very cool city. I plan to do at least one more trip to Morocco before I’m done. I want to hit one more coastal city with a beach!

Heyyyyy! So this whole day was a journey of fun and foolery! We took a train at like 6am! Some people almost didn't make it but we were dressed and ready. Ice train was 3.5 hours to Munich! What a fun journey! Go with people who are planners! Shoutout to jenn for making it happen on the train.
On arrival we headed to the atm. Gotta have cash for the park and tents. Recommended. Then to the parade to watch lots of fun. The twelve gun salute is safe and they let you know to not run. Today's day and age we have to get those types of announcements.
Headed into the park to eat our way thru until official opening time at 12 noon. We headed into a tent but all the tables inside were reserved so we sat outside. Even without a reservation. Prices are expensive but it's octoberfest so it's how they do.
We definitely moved around to different tents. Got some little trinkets and watched people ride rides. For some reason I don't trust the rides just yet.
If you aren't a beer drinker that's ok, we definitely found tents that served prosecco and mixed drinks! Winning. The food is very standard but good fair food. Lots of half chickens flying around :).
The tents seat different seatings and turn over (meaning everyone leave so they can reset for the next seating). Reservations or not you can usually only sit for about 4 hours.
Bathroom lines are long for women. Typical. But they have workers keeping them clean.
Wear comfortable shoes as there is lots of walking and you never know what gross things you will stumble upon and you never want to be left with your shoes off!!
We hung around the park a bit. We met several people from America and even a guy I went to college with. Amazing how small the world is! We then headed home on a 8pm train. So long day for sure but worth it to experience opening day at octoberfest!

I arrived after a 4hr 45min flight (sooooo long after a night of good times with friends celebrating my birthday!) I can say they all were texting me to ensure I made it to my flight!! The airport is reasonably small and easy to navigate. In the taxi I asked to be taken to the Hard Rock Tenerife. The cabbie said hotel or cafe?! Which I thought was strange but now I know in Tenerife they are separate. The hotel was very accommodating in getting my room ready. But since it wasn't they immediately directed me to a shower area where I could change and prepare for a pool party! The Hard Rock is famous for pool parties! The one in Vegas is amazing! So get there too. This party was adult only. Yahooo! Because here I was thinking there wouldn't be many kids around for the weekend but there were tons I head out to the pool party and have a great time. Naturally I met many people. I don't know what it is....do they feel sorry for me because I'm rolling solo or is there something in my spirit that makes people want to talk to me?! I decided to go to the steakhouse for dinner that night. Montauk. It was pretty good but well over the cost allowable in the meal plan I got. (I did a half board plan which included breakfast and dinner--but only a supplement. ) I ordered a ribeye and spinach as a side. The restaurant agreed to bring my remaining dinner to my room but it never made it. I complained and received a lot of excuses. But oh well. The next day I went to the breakfast buffet. It was nice but I slept in and went late. Public Service Announcement: parents please manage your children at the buffet. I mean kids who are under 12?! I don't know but watching them drop tongs and replace them back on the plate, picking up items with their hands and other inappropriate things gave me pause. Thanks to my waitress for free champagne lol! Because once I sat down I didn't get back up I headed to the pool for some chill time and a tan. I think people are surprised that I actually lay out...but there is nothing like having a glow and people asking on your return where have you been?!! Lol! A very chill and relaxing day. I decided to try Ali-Ole the tapas restaurant this night and it was fantastic! Yesssss! Grilled octopus, papas bravas , and garlic prawns! My love of seafood is so real and I am grateful I got to enjoy so much of it. The staff in this restaurant was great and very accommodating to me. Shoutout to Isi, Ishmael, and Grace! Y'all are good people. Also know that the meal plan went much further in this location. On Monday I went into the city. The Hard Rock has a shuttle that takes you to then Hard Rock Cafe. The good news is this is on the beach and it's awesome! Go there. It's also in the more party town of the city. I'm glad I opted to stay on the other side. For those who know me know I love to rest when it's time! Hahahha. I shopped and relaxed most of the time here. I did stumble upon a nice tattoo shop and had a session with an artist in vacation from Italy! we both said how much it was meant to be. Alex! You're a super cool guy and thank you for your work! He was visiting at Black Mamba Tattoo. Rocking my heart on my sleeve Afterwards. If you know me...I ate! Jerk wings! Dedos for the win! Who knew they would be pretty decent in Spain. I am always amazed at the number of people who are so happy to see someone from America. They talk to me all day. I always say 'yep I'm from Tennessee." I get a strange look and confirm that it's the place where Jack Daniels is made! Hahahha! Thanks mr Jack! I headed home Tuesday morning. What a fantastic way to celebrate another year on this earth. I know this post isn't as detailed like the others mostly because I was in a beach and chill town. However know that I celebrate my birthday ALL month and additional foolery will come. Quick shoutout to Chase sapphire Reserve and lounge access in airports! The one in Tenerife was really nice! Grateful! City 26 down and 4 more to goal this year. I hope to surpass it

Paris day trip hey! My friend has been in Germany for a week working and she fussed that I never take her anywhere when she is in town. ‍♀️‍♀️fine! I agreed to take her on a quick whirlwind tour of Paris. Train tickets ✅! Hotel ✅! Sightseeing✅! And shopping✅! All on deck and in order. We arrive early on a Saturday morning. Around 11am. Took the ice train from Frankfurt for about $150 round trip, cheaper than a flight and less hassle than the airport. My friend had some issues with her foot so keeping walking to a minimum was required. It can be done but most European cities are walking ones so remember that when making plans. Checked into the Hilton Opera! So nice and very centrally located. The rooms are small. Typical Europe. Not surprised. Careful about too much baggage. Always try to pack light and use easy to maneuver luggage. The concierge was able to get us tickets on the open air bus. Stops at all the frequent tourist fun spots. They have multiple lines so be careful to see the color on the front to make sure you see what you want to see! It was about an hour or so to make the loop and we saw all the highlights. Experiencing something with someone who has never been for the first time is very cool. I'm so blessed to be so close and to have had so many experiences. I encourage those reading to get out and explore! So much of the world to see. Once we looped 1.5 times! Needed more pics. We decided to get off around the champs elyse! The most famous shopping street in Paris! Good cafes and tons of people watching! All the bougie are here and they show up and show out. We had a little snack at Laduree! Yes yes! Best macrons in the world! Salted caramel will change your life! I haven't been really having sweets but I splurged and will every time for this place! Also why not have a glass of champagne! I mean I'm in France right?? Afterwards we headed to Louis flagship! I mean it's my birthday basically in a week! I felt it was allowed! ‍♀️! Didn't do that much damage. Thank you lord cause I think Chase would have called and asked why I was in the streets clowning! Hahahha! The customer service was fantastic and when they didn't have my size they sent me to another store that could help! making the sale! Lol! Aftwrwards we ran around the city a bit and then back to the hotel for chill time. We actually had a burger from the hotel and it was legit steak! Dear Mr Hilton...this was for the win. Loved it. We wanted to go see the Eiffel tower at night! #fail we passed out from a busy day. The next morning we got up and headed to The Smith's bakery! Delicious! Thanks Kent and Carter for this recommendation. We walked around the city a bit in that area. Lots of tourist shops and cute stuff. Those who get post cards they are on the way! Ugh ‍♀️ in 2019 that's over by the way! Lol Headed back to the hotel for our late checkout at 3pm! Shoutout Mr Hilton again! Winning! We stopped to have a cocktail before our train trip and let's talk about this wonderful popsicle cocktail. I'm going to try and perfect something like this at the house! Lol! All in all a great trip! I'll be back to Paris at some point. Shoutout to my 25th city this year! 5 more to the goal! Think I'll make it?? My birthday is in 6 days! Lord. I am so grateful to see another year. All this running around the globe and no issues. Grateful for safe and uneventful travel. So many things could happen but I'm always watching and making so I am in order to avoid any foolery. 25 cities! Crazy. I love to travel it's almost therapeutic for me. I have decided this is my last single birthday. So Dear Future Person...let's get this travel thing on and paint the globe together. Are you British with that nice accent?!? I'm ready! Hahah! Even if we are only dating exclusively by next year I'm here for it. Also public service announcement: I am the United Nations. I don't focus on race, religion, and etc. happy to discuss happy mediums. :) I spent some selfish time alone for sure. I didn't want to answer to anyone or care what they thought. #honest. But now as a real grown up I know I am not supposed to grow old alone. So not worried or pressed but something in my soul says someone is coming! ! Happy reading and love feedback! More to come as my next trip is in a week I try not to let too much grass grow under my feet! Until next time.....

Caribana!!! I flew WOW airlines for the first time and it wasn't awful. Opt for the extra legroom or big seat if you want it to be more like a normal plane ride. They charge for everything so bring all your own snacks and such. Every flight connects in Iceland! That airport is small but crazy! So be ready to maneuver crowds if necessary. Arrived in Canada on a Wednesday night. Stayed at the Hilton Toronto. Nice property overall. Centrally located and attached to a Ruth's Chris! Yay happy hour foolery. We did eat at a steak restaurant called the Keg! Delicious! They also have lots of food delivery and a variety of apps to chose from. Thursday we spent the afternoon in the distillery district looking for cool little shops and Canada only experiences. We definitely found them. Thursday night officially started Caribana for us and we went to a white (dress attire) boat party. Turned out to be just ok. We could have lived without it but made the best of our time. Friday. Friends from all over arrived! Spending time was my favorite part of vacation. 4 days. 7 parties! We are officially old! I could barely hang! Lol we moved to a different host hotel. Marriott city center. It's right at blue jays stadium! From the restaurant you can watch baseball games right inside the stadium. And Taylor swift happened to be performing that weekend and we could peek at her on stage from a certain window! Each day they had day time and evening activities. Saturday was the parade day. Costumes were great and really naked lol! See pics. Monday was our last full day in town and we were able to get to niagara for some quick pics! What a gorgeous sight to see! Amazing! All in all a great trip and lots of fun. Would definitely visit the city again for less partying :) I would go back Toronto again in a heartbeat! Stay at the Marriott city center! Awesome!

The airport to the hotel was really close. Choose the Conrad. It was really nice. Good lounge service and spacious rooms. Typical amenities and service expected of a Hilton property. The staff is top notch and  very attentive all around. We did have a few a little too friendly..lol! But I guess it will happens from time to time. One guy let us know he was "single and ready to get mingled".  We both looked and laughed.  American culture and foolery spreads so far!  The Conrad has a cool little bar called the Cave for watching sporting events and the like. We ordered sparkling wines and the bartender asked if we wanted “salted nuts or something else” as a snack. I immediately asked “what’s the something else?” He said “it’s actually nothing now because the kitchen is closed” my face ! The trip is off to a great start! Day 2: we head to brunch at the Al Qasr and it was AMAZING! I mean I thought it would be like any other brunch...it took the cake! Only open on Fridays and pricey but well worth it! You are greeted immediately with water and prosecco! And as you walk your way thru the overwhelming food sections...there are cocktails! Yes you heard me right...so in the Spanish section with paella and all sorts of lovely foods were mojitos and sangria (white and red) of course! The food was divine and the service impeccable. Once we thought we had seen and had all the food our waiter says ‘did you try any of the meat section?’. There was a whole other side with chefs making all sorts of different meat things with a side of gin and tonic or a smoky old fashion with jack Daniels that they were smoking in front of you! The dessert bar was gorgeous...we never even had anything because there was so much food to be had. Also the seafood bar was wonderful! I highly recommend this place. We departed for the second part of our adventure. Sand dunes, 4 wheeling and BBQ party. Our driver Amir was fantastic. We shared a car with 4 other people. We immediately went out to the desert area for 4 wheeling rides. Peep the cute head wraps! I definitely was told to slow down because I was flying and jumping hills! Lol! Always causing trouble. We left there for the ride along the dunes. The drivers were all very safe and rode in packs to make sure no one was left behind. I appreciated their attention to detail, fun but safety first! (I’m getting old lol) We headed out to the bbq site. There was hookah, henna, camel rides and a bit of shopping. They had 2 performers one guy who did some neat tricks and had a cool light up costume and a female belly dancer. The end to an awesome first day. Day 3: We started the day with an awesome zip line! About a minute across the palm hotel and into the marina. This is the first time I've ever laid down to zip line. Fun and a good rush! We then shopped and hung out at various malls! We had a Cinnabon! Yessss! I miss America some days. For the evening we went to the underwater restaurant in the Atlantis, Ossiano! It was excellent. We choose a set menu with 4 courses. We were given seats right at the aquarium! One of the other guests surprised his wife with an anniversary surprise. So cool! Our waitress Anna was very good and the staff overall was very attentive. Stephan initially greeted us at the door but then we ended up seeing him at various times throughout our meal. Lastly Badar is the General Manager and he was very welcoming and checking in several times throughout the meal. Overall excellent experience. We went to a lounge/bar connected to the Conrad. If you go any night they expect ladies to wear heels!  Be warned...most clubs in Dubai are like this. We had a few drinks, very specialty and fancy cocktails. We headed back in after a great day. Day 4: Boat ride day...we met out captain at the Marina  mall area.  We set sail all around the marina area, to include views of the new ferris wheel, the palm hotel and over to the Atlantis for some fun photos! Fun times! It was super hot, so if we had it to do over we would take the cruise in the evening around 5ish. Noted for the future.  After the ride we decided we wanted to shop around the mall a bit.  We had to go in and change out clothes!  Well...let me let you know there are "rules" for the mall and the first is that you are dressed covering your shoulders and knees.  Clearly our swimsuits were not ok!  lol!  We got stopped twice and asked to put on appropriate clothes.  Which of course we were headed to do in the bathroom anyways.  But I wish someone could have seen us scurrying around the mall and trying to avoid security!  Hilarious now that it's over and we aren't in jail! hahhaha! After we changed we saw the first security guy and got a copy of the mall rules.  We immediately left and headed to another mall (they have about 6 in the immediate area)! We shopped and found some good buys in the mall.  Found my favorite popcorn place Garrett's!  Chicago style cheddar cheese and caramel mix! so good.  We also had a Krispy Kreme donut!  I love how the middle east is famous for bringing American things overseas! We also saw the indoor skiing place.  Amazing how they make something like this happen for a culture that will probably never see snow in life!  The next day was time to depart.  We enjoyed a great time in this city and I would definitely go back. I am thinking once its winter in Europe it will be even better to visit UAE!

I went to Cologne to see Jay and Bey in their On the Run tour. I arrived in cologne via ICE train and it was nice. What would have been a 2 hour drive took me only an hour. Upon exiting the station you are at the cathedral which is one of two things I was told would be good there. Stayed a Courtyard Marriott very close to the train station. We did have a fire alarm and had to exit the hotel while it was like 85 degrees out! Lawd! But I took the chance to pose a bit lol! I enjoyed the concert. I felt like they both stand as artist on their own and promoted each other accordingly and then did duet types of things. Surprisingly it was more than two hours long. One thing I dislike about Germany is they are always charging a pfand (fee) for a glass or plate so you will return it. Well they did the same at the concert which is fine but my rub is that they wanted the cup back if you returned for a pop or whatever. Fail! I wanted more than one cup! Mess! Oh well. After the show we headed back because most people had to work the next day but I was off! Happy 4th! The next day Ama and I went for breakfast at a little cafe and our waiter was awesome! Shout out BOSSE! We walked around the city a bit and went inside the cathedral! It's gorgeous and truly does rival Paris Notre Dame which I have seen before several times! Blessings I tell you. All in all a good trip and cute little city! Grateful to even explore the country where I live. I did have a couple of incidents. Smh! My life sometimes. One lady asked me for money, I didn't give it and she proceeded to act like she was going to spit on me! Jesus take the wheel because if it had landed on me I would be asking to blog from jail! Then...on my train coming home I walk up to the lady in my seat and I say 'hi there this is my seat' she looks and me and says 'oh this is your seat, what's the seat number' me: just move, this information printed above the seat means it's reserved! Her mama stared at me the whole ride home. That's fine cause I'm gorgeous!

Hiya! I went on a quick little visit to one of my favorite cities...I've been there a million times and lived there before...LONDON! Those accents..yasss I am here for it. The funny thing is as much as I enjoyed listening to them they equally liked listening to me. I arrived on Thursday night for a show at the Royal Albert Hall! Such a fancy place. The show was phenomenal and lots of laughs. Surprisingly I sat next to other Americans. As large as this world is it's tiny. I stayed at a Doubletree. It sucked! They didn't have A/C and granted the city is normally not hot it was warm while I was there. I complained and of course Hilton wasn't having it. Shoutout to a good brand for always making things right. Friday morning I moved to another Hilton on Kensington high street and so glad I did. Way better than my previous hotel! I stumbled upon Ben's cookies! They are amazing. If you're ever in the city make sure to get there. Milk chocolate orange was delightful. I was able to connect with a high school classmate, Veronica. She's looking to remain in London for the foreseeable future. I applaud her bravery to seek an opportunity that will make her happy! Good luck chica! When she and I met up we went to a hotel called the Berkeley for afternoon tea! Have mercy! It was fantastic. Talk about star treatment. See pics below. They remembered me from previous visits. I love when people recognize repeat visitors. We then left and went to the hotel to relax and we decided to visit a couple of speakeasy locations. We found a rooftop bar called Me London, if you want this place definitely make reservations and be aware they have a minimal spend and are busy on weekends. We decided to try another place, Experimental Cocktail club and it was fantastic. There is a polish bartender, I don't want to butcher spelling her name but she was amazing. We tried a variety of sips and she's so creative at her craft. The music was old school hip hop and we danced the whole time. She sent us to see her buddy Lucas at Hovarda. The food was ok but very pricey for tapas portions. I think because it turns into a club they cater to a different crowd. Lucas was super cool tho! We ended up returning to experimental and danced the night away with some new friends. A great night. Saturday we went for a little shopping adventure at Harrods! I love that store. So posh. We had a delightful cappuccino and purchased macarons! Salted caramel ones will change your life! Ladurée!! We went to Mr Foggs residence for my last afternoon tea! The thing about this one is it was "boozy" so instead of tea they serve cocktails in teapots! How fun! The food was good but the atmosphere was the best! They had pianist and the whole place is modeled after "Around the world in eighty days". A very cool experience. We also met some really cool British ladies. I love when you meet your spirit animal in other cultures. I had to rush away from tea to the airport. The only thing I didn't get was Nandos...I will right that wrong! Hahahah! I love London and look forward to future residence

Flew directly into Nice. This turned out to be a good jumping off location to get to other cities. I decided to rent a vehicle to drive to St. Tropez my first day there. What an adventure. The locals drive a bit wild but I survived the drive.  There are a few tolls along the way, not bad, 8 euros each way. It is rumored to take a long time to actual enter the city during peak season (something like 3 hours for the last 10 miles ekkk!) so I am glad I went when I did In early June.  Walked around the city, saw some yachts that were like cruise ships almost! Most of the people there only "summer" in the city...I need to get my life cause that is clearly where I am supposed to be! lol! Naturally all the restaurants on the boardwalks are pricey but you can't buy the view you get anywhere.  All the postcard pics are accurate! I tried to find a fancy souvenir for myself but it was to early in the season.  #sadface I must need a second trip! Enjoyed a nice dinner at a little spot called "Pablos". Definitely showed up when the place was empty and they asked about reservations.  This is very common practice in Europe. That said if you can make reservations try to do that. Last note for this day, gas stations close early!  ugh!  Spent about 40 mins trying to get fuel in Nice before returning the rental!  Hot mess!  oh well.

Friday I spent in Eze and Monaco!!!! Ok so in Eze they have a cute perfumery called "Fragonard" small place but they make some nice scents. I didn't pre book a tour I just popped in a joined a group, the tour was free. The tour is pretty much a quick walk thru, 15 mins or so to get you in the shop. Prices were minus the VAT and similar to what you will find in duty free.  If you want to wait there is a shop in the airport as well. It's right next to Laduree!  The best place for macarons ever! Try the salted caramel. I purchased some perfume and soaps, all very nice.  Outside they have a gorgeous rose bush that they actually use for the perfumes and a Ferrari experience, I posed by it but didn't partake.
Headed up to another small perfume place called "Galimard". Equally lovely scents made locally. They have a person who will directly create a scent for you, she was out the day I was there and I didn't find the time to return.  (another reason why I will need to go back at some point).  I grabbed some souvenirs for the family and headed off to Monaco!

I ubered into Monaco, but you cannot uber around it or out of there.  So be prepared with your transportation options.  Upon arrival I was dropped at this cool outdoor mall, all the bougie stores.  I popped in one shop and asked the male sales attendant "Do you have anything special or specific to Monaco" His response "Just me" we both giggle.  :) Then I explain a bit more of what I mean and he and now his colleague are both saying they only have what I was looking for in St. Tropez. All good. I say "well ok thanks so much"  he says "Should I just follow you now"  I said "Yep happy to take you home" lol!  I can't make this up if I tried.  Foolery at its best! Headed to one of the casinos, gave the local economy 20 bucks, had a champagne cocktail and rolled out!  ExperiANNNNCCEE!  As my friend Ken would say! lol Careful trying to get taxis in this town too.  Some are specifically for certain areas and therefore aren't licensed to drive around Monaco. Took a cute little train tour around the city, only 10 bucks.  It starts and ends at one location, and it is NOT hop on and off.  This tour will allow you to get some great pics throughout the city.

Travel times between these locations Nice to Eze to Monaco and back to Nice.  40 mins max.  I think it was 15 mins to Eze and another 20ish to Monaco, this is why Nice is a great central location.  Cannes was super close as well, but I just drove thru it on my way to St. Tropez fyi.

Headed back to Nice to hang out and chill.
Saturday morning popped down to a beach club called Lido Plage. Now, these places cater to temporary beach visitors.  Rented a lounge chair, umbrella and table for a set cost.  And you had to eat and drink from their restaurant.  I thought overall the price was appropriate and was well worth not having to buy/bring your own items. And nice to have service on the beach. Relaxed and got a good tan most of the day here.  Headed out the afternoon and evening for some libations and a food.  Enjoyed oysters shucked by a world champion shucker.  Who knew that was a thing?  He was super cool and that was his only job to shuck.  If no one was ordering them at the time, he was chilling. He did yell at me about putting tabasco on the oysters as he felt they were in good shape to be eaten as is.  I mean he was right but I also like spicy so I snuck it on them anyways!  hehehe.  Lastly since I gave him a Roxy smile and a bit of flirt, he shucked an oyster behind his back for me and then basically attempted to feed it to me!  Doing way too much! I know...but makes the blog fun! Such a good time.

Headed out on an early Sunday morning for a flight back home to Germany!  PSA: Plane etiquette:  I can teach a class.  If you are in the middle seat, do not attempt to stretch out all over the other seats.  smh! make better life choices, check in early and pay for the seat reservation so you can have what you want and sit with who you want!
I really loved this location. I am looking forward to getting back here.  All the views, food, beaches and fancy things make me happy. In a conversation with my bestie today, we discussed life, goals, dreams and passions.    Travel is my passion for sure and I will continue to see and experience everything this world has to offer me.  I am grateful for these opportunities. We also discussed the fearless part of me that will go places (all safe locations) alone. She said in church today the message was just that about life and your journey and how you can't and shouldn't wait for others, they have their own journeys to tend to.  So thank you for reading and coming on this journey with me!
Until the next adventure... #carmensandiegowho #dirtypassport #travel #blessedbeyondmeasure

Speakeasy Bar crawl...Don't mind if I do!
So my friend took me to my first speak easy in New York and what an experiANCE! So bougie and fancy with bottles and no labels. I like this liquor and these tastes and out comes something fun. So when I visited Prague aka Praha I heard they had lots of these bars so I decided to hit a few.
In visit order. Don't think I'm randomly giving love to anyone over others
The Hemingway! I didn't have a reservation. Hey party of one...so they let me in. But reservations are recommended so try to get that in order. Headed upstairs and sat at the bar. Reading the menu I noticed the "rules" see them below I love the 'don't randomly talk to people', when this girl next to me was like 'hey your phone screen is so dark, how's your cocktail..' my face ! lol!! The place has really cool vibe and real low key feel. I was feeling I needed a bourbon day so that was my base. He made a fancy bourbon sour that was excellent. He also made me a champagne cocktail with a flavor of the season scoop of sorbet and a candy piece in it. We had some good chats and I discovered that all the rumors about absinthe are not true and this bar makes like 10 versions of their own. Try it. He also allowed me a taste of a local booze...I had to clutch my pearls! Hahhaha. Overall cool visit and good prices. He also pointed me to my next location.

I headed to the Parlour! This place is Everything. They don't even have a menu. Well same thing here I had No reservation and they had seating for like 20 people at most. I was offered to stand at the bar. Also side note this is in an interesting part of town. I'm pretty sure they were selling hookers all around me. **PSA: therefore ladies bring your RBF and walk with a purpose. Don't try me! **Ok back to the bar. I explained the tastes and booze I liked. something sweet and sour. Had a great whiskey sour version all made from fresh ingredients and all their own stuff. Like organic booze. Good prices. You can pay with a card, this is important cause some bars aren't having it.

Next stop: Anonymous Shrinks Office! Got there didn't have reservation and even as one person they wouldn't let me in! Email them for reservations and get there...I'm coming back!
As my third and final option of this night I chose Black Angels Bar...loved the name. I got there all excited and pulled out my camera and they said no no not allowed . Fine. Give me my whiskey sour then. And I put my headphones in (full attitude) listening to cardi B again! Okkkuurrr! The drink was good a little more bitter than I liked. Prices similar to everywhere. Well Peter the bartender sensing my attitude was like " hey I'm so glad you came blah blah..."which was nice. So that I could have a memory he offered me the menu...and a coin! I'm like whaaat! It's like a collectors coin of their bar! #winning so I promptly gave him that Roxy smile and tipped him graciously. Lol! Thank peter you rock!
No pics inside....

Now let's roll back to the Anonymous place...I got a reservation for my last night after the spa. Time 2300 hours ‍♀️‍♀️ y'all know I'm old and should be in the bed! but I had to go. I ring the door bell in the back and they open a different side door as an entrance. Shady. Love it. Of course I'm like yeah yeah I have a reservation and he allows me come downstairs. He also let in two other girls with no reservation. Pays to be a chick sometimes. It's nowhere near full but I get how it could be a fire hazard and stuff therefore makes sense not too many people. He passes you those cards with pics on it and based on the splatter you chose a drink. This stressed me out and initially Milan was a little bit sassy with me but turned out to be his sense of humor. He's great! My whiskey sour was excellent (this was not my card choice..lol) and I asked for the secret menu...symptoms and medicines. I chose a medicine which was a lighter drink and it had a herb that he torched on fire. so fun! All in all a good visit and glad I went back to it.

I think that's all for Prague aka Praha! Get ready for the next adventurein a week or so!

Egypt! Wow wow wow! 3 days and 4 nights. I arrived late on a Friday. I did use an expedite service for the airport and it was well worth it! My friend spent 2 hours getting out of the airport the night before! My hotel was about an hour away from Cairo city (In Giza) which was fine by me. I was about a 15 min drive from the pyramids!!!! So awesome!
They have uber and it's insanely cheap. Use it as it works well.
The Hilton pyramids golf is amazing. I received an upgrade to the safari suite! 2 bedrooms and 3 baths! Insane. They have some spaces under construction but I'm sure once they are finished they will be excellent. They have an Italian restaurant, a snack bar and a local buffet place. I ate at them all throughout my stay and it was good. The pool is nice and is a good size for children and adults.
Ramadan was the perfect time to go in my opinion less crowds but things are still open. And yes you can eat. Some places run shorter hours such as the Egyptian museum 9-2p. Instead of all day.
I spent all day Saturday in Luxor. Had an amazing tour guide, Mansour, from Aladin Travel. They get great ratings on trip advisor. It's a little hard to book as most things are done in email and WhatsApp but be patient they are worth it.
He took us to all the sites and we even got to visit a few places not on the tour because we were quick about being in and out of locations.
The tombs are very cool. Be prepared for the heat and lots of walking. We had a nice lunch at the tour company's restaurant which was good, nothing fancy.
I spent Sunday at the pyramids and Sphinx. What a sight to see! It was amazing. I didn't go inside the pyramids. I hear it's okay but those small enclosed hot spaces are not my thing. Be prepared to be harassed by people wanting to sale you any and everything. And camel rides! I opted against that too! Hahahahaha. But snuck a picture anyways.
I relaxed by the pool the rest of the day and had a nice dinner.
Monday was my departure and in my mind I was going to the museum but I didn't want to lug around my luggage all day so I opted against this idea and chose the pool! Lol.
The airport was much easier to get out than getting in and it was a breeze. Luckily it was because I got there within an hour of my flight. Mess. The pool was too nice to walk away from. I know better. And in the future I will #dobetter
All in all a great trip and I would definitely go back. Especially in the winter when I'm looking for a warm escape.
Last note: the lines on the road are simply decorations. Not real guides for how people should drive and stay in the lanes. They drive all over them and each other basically. The locals often play frogger crossing lanes anywhere. I had to catch my breath a few times.
I think the Egyptians are my people secretly. ‍♀️royalty !
And one of the pics were some locals checking for your girl in the background. Men are the same all around the globe. Some of the Egyptians have the most gorgeous eyes. I almost got caught up a couple of times. And apparently women have come there, gotten wooed and married. Then the husband leaves them at home to look for more women! now what I won't do is be foolish. Who gets married after two minutes in a country?!? Mess. Ain't doing it no matter how pretty those eyes were.
Ok heading off for the next adventure in a couple of days. 3 down and one to go this month! Yay!
Happy to hear from you!

Agadir is absolutely gorgeous! It was a very chill vacation and one that I did solo. Ryanair has a great sale and I was able to fly here Thursday to Monday for 50 bucks! Crazy! Once I booked the flight I started to look for resorts and ended up at the Hotel RIU Takida Beach! A very nice place to stay. There are lots of beaches right outside the resort, a great pool, and decent restaurants on the property. Because I was traveling solid I didn’t venture away too much just in case any foolishness. I honestly didn’t feel the need. The Moroccan people were so happy to see this little brown girl. Everyone speaks French and I wish I would have learned some before my adventure. My room had a great sea view. I didn’t like that it was two levels only because I was traveling solo. Last word of note my hotel was all inclusive! Lots of drinks and food. I tipped in USD because they seemed to appreciate it more than their local currency. For a relaxing beach and pool vacation I would visit here again!
