This is review 4 of 23 in a group of writings I call, “A quick deep look at local Cali
    stopping grounds”. Home to world
renowned UC Berkeley Berkeley has a little bit of everything. Being a former
Berkeley grad I would say I know this slice of the East Bay decently. Berkeley
has a few regions within itself: Berkeley Hills- which does not have many
melanated folks, Berkeley Campus and downtown which is very diverse, and
Berkeley outskirts where those of a higher echelon reside. Downtown is a hustle
and bustling place. There are many great spots to eat that are “Cali Hippie Clean”.
Meaning, non gmo, or vegan, or organic, or keto, or another health category.
One great place is Angeline’s Louisiana Kitchen which has excellent mac and cheese and red beans and rice. For someone who might be homesick and
need some GOOOOD food, this hits the spot. Sliver Pizzeria is also, interesting if
you care to take a walk on the ‘wild side’ and try their famous potato pizza. An organic
yummy stop would be Razan’s Organic Vegan Kitchen which has many great options. Three Berkeley must have stables are: Top Dog , CREAM, and Fat Slice (which is now
closed, but is sooo historical that it deserves an honorable mention). Berkeley is a
foodie’s dream, there is something for everyone even those with dietary restrictions.
There is also a berkeley farmer’s market which has very unique items but if you visit make sure you bring your pocket book with you. Again I
can go on and on about the different places there but the best thing is to visit
Berkeley for yourself, but beware of going into the Berkeley hills, which is less
    than friendly to black folks.
