On the outside Annapolis “looks” like a black friendly place… but it isn’t.
I had to travel to work in Annapolis a few times and there were confederate flags on flag poles in some folks lawns. I experienced some racism my first time out there, I was patrolling the grounds and a car was broken down in the street. I went over to offer help and the lady rolled her windows up and said she didn’t need help as she started dialing 911. So I walked away and watched the security CCTV and she sat there the whole time and after a little over an hour of sitting in the freezing cold the tow truck showed up.
