I used to travel here a lot to see my grandma, and I used to see a lot of confederate flags hung in people’s windows and Trump signs in people’s yards. I remember meeting people on a walk who named their black labradoodle dog Jezebel. My grandma used to make negative comments about seeing people of color at her local supermarket as well. I am white and come from a white family, so I do not know what it would be like for people of color, but I would recommend being careful around this area. I am also a member of the LGBT community and did not feel comfortable.
