Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

This Island was not and is not for black people it was like taking a step back in time. Every street or business had the word plantation in it somewhere. Customer service was horrible our car broke down on a round a bout and we set for 5 hours without AAA coming not one person asking if we needed help except one black man that didn’t live on the island just came to drop someone off on to the Island. He said that no black people come up there to vacation they go down to the other end where all the black people were hung out that that vacation spot is for the rich white people that don’t want blacks vacationing there. Went to the beach the second day there and it was overly crowded with white people didn’t see a black person in sight. We were stared at like they knew we didn’t belong there. Once we found a clear spot on the beach all the people got up and moved away or left the beach. We were looked at as if they seen a ghost. Then we finally found auto repair shop to fix our alternator and it took them 4 days to repair. We had to uber and lift everywhere which was very expensive. We went to an upscale restaurant on the water and was told we could not dine on the water. When we were seated at our table on one side of the restaurant it was full of whites they all got up and left within a couple of minutes and looked at us again as if we did not belong!! It was so uncomfortable we had them pack our food to go back to the Condominium. Upon picking our car up at the shop is was not ready we had to wait 4 hours. Was told we could go have lunch at the all you can eat Chinese restaurant until they were finished. Then we receive our car at 3 -4pm we fill up get on the highway. Two hours later our battery light came on the alternator again!!! They did not fix it or fix it right or gave us a bad part. We were then stuck in Charleston, South Carolina. The energy was different the people black and friendly and nice helped us fix our car and get on our way!! Hilton Head South Carolina was the worst vacation ever!!! I will never in my life go back there again!!
